gets to the actual playoffs.. not just the better record..

Yankees played terrible and limited opponents in the 1st Half of the season
their record was inflated as a result.

AL West was much stronger in the 1st Half of the season... better for the Astros to be in there

ASTROS are the far superior team (though you would not guess from their payrolls)

You truly hate the Yankees. Btw the season is based on what is done throughout not only first or 2nd half. That's why it's 162 games. I believe the yanks had a better record than the astros over those 162 games. By your logic we can assume the payroll is the best way to assign teams.

Astros are better. MUCH BETTER. That's why they are in the Playoffs and the Yankees are not.

AL EAST was weak in 1st Half...

Boston, totally new squad. need half season to fig it out.
Tampa, lost half team, plus best manager in Division, lost best GM in baseball
Toronto lost Stroman to ACL
Baltimore lost huge bat, Cruz to Free Agency and killer closer to much more money (Yankees)

a guy that does 162 Reps of dumbell curls with 20 lbs,
is much stronger than a guy that does the same amount of Repetitions with 5 lb. dumbells.

if the spread the schedule so that there is less intra-Division play.. fine.

but if teams have to play inside their division twice and many games, then it is unfair
to teams in stronger divisions.

but look, the yankees just do not belong in the playoffs. When you pair them
against a strong team like Toronto, they get killed

So in 2011 the Cubs would not have made the playoffs with 97 wins. The wildcard game is needed, just not sure it should be 1 game

Everybody are cry babies now. When I was a teenager 4 baseball teams out of 26 then out of 28 went to the playoffs. Sometimes one division's like 4th place team would have a better record than the other division's winner. They played a balanced schedule too and guess what no one clomplained. Now 1/3 of the league makes the playoffs and everybody cries. It's in the rules before the season starts. Just go back to 4 divisions and 4 teams in playoffs but guess what you guys would all still cry about that.
