Anyone betting on the AFL Grand Final this weekend?

This is the biggest game in Australia, there's a thread every year, strange there was none up untill now. I can't be the only one here thinking about this, surely!

Initially I thought Hawks will win this easy, opening lines Hawks $1.58 vs Eagles $2.46 were about right I thought, more I think about it now, I'm not so sure.

Ladbrokes is offering $2 on the Hawks with a max bet of $50 so I think that'll be my only bet. I took the same when they played Freo and figure I may as well again. I'm really not that confident either way though.

Ahh memories. Eagles are the reason I followed AFL, now I think the comp is fixed unfortunately. Still, it's the GF.

If west coast start to choke then the under looks the go. So if its fixed then whats the better headline? West coast win and what?. Hawthorn win and they become arguably the best team ever to play in the the modern era?. I dont mind betting it but i just cant watch it. It looks fukking stupid on tv and their fans are racist fuks.

Going to be a 'hot' day. Like eagles to cover here. It will fundamentally come down to who can kick straight. Freo would have beat hawthorn years ago if they kicked straight. Scoreboard pressure will be paramount.

Yeah, interesting. Eagles haven't been the best team in the wet, even relative to the Hawks, they are a better dry weather team.

Some things to consider for mine;

Hawks road to the GF: Loosing to Eagles at Subi, Winning against an overachieving Crows at the MCG, beating a defensive Freo at Subi (Hawks especially play well against defensive teams imo).

Eagles road to the GF: Winning at home against Hawks, beating North at home though they were challenged early.

Hawks lost some strange matches during the season and I think they may have overachieved to get to the GF, though they are playing at what is essentially their home ground, with stevic as one of the umps.

Eagles get to show what the've really got, they've had too many difficult games in wet/windy weather this season, I think they're going to cut loose here.

Wow this is hard to call... Backing against Hawthorn in a big game at the MCG takes balls.

It wouldn't suprise me if Hawthorn come out and just monster them ala gf last year.

But the heat might take it's toll.

Im on Hawthorn for a flat win at 1.65. Experienced, skillful, big game players. But who knows.

I think it will be a ball tearing game.

Definitely going where the value is. Eagles for mine. Got burnt years ago when i took freo against the hawks in the gf. Makes me feel quite indecisive about taking the eagles though

Eagles fresher & play better pressure footy.

If they don't get freaked out by gf atmosphere they'll destroy hawks 60+.
