Anyway I have no intentions of breaking the rules, which is why i am seeking clarification in the first place but like many other posters expressing concern of multiple ghosts/people registering multi-accounts to get the upper hand it also got me thinking! Of course I'd prefer a fair contest as well, I mean who wouldn't??
But I wasn't expecting to be threatened to be permabanned just for asking for clarification, I didn't know that we couldn't do that here.

You don't get banned for asking. You get pegged as a potential dickhead for asking if you can have two accounts, being told no, then asking what will happen if you ignore what you have just been told.

The "whoa there" was step 1 toward confirming that suspicion.

SBR's contest... they have the right to run it anyway they see fit and in any fashion they deem to be in their best interest. (obviously)

Everyone on the customer side of things has the right to interpret what that means for them, individually, and whether or not remaining/turning PRO still holds value for them. (obviously)

Personally, I think it's still a great contest (and TY to SBR)... but, as others have stated/alluded to, the opportunity for FRAUD (via multiple accounts) seems like easy pickings for those so inclined to scam the contest.

But, as Bruce Hornsby once astutely told us: "That's just the way it is..."

Well, like I've said before 100's of times...what's with all of the non-pro bashing?!.....I've been here since 2007 way long before the vast majority of you newbie "SBR PRO" broke dik fuks have arrived on the scene...furthermore, there was no such thing as pro or non-pro when I joined..this shit just started several years ago...and last but not least, the vast majority of you fuks don't even bet real money like I do...just measly bet points so you can get a goddamn free pizza!...really?!!

A lot of you posters already know me and there is no need for me to prove or explain myself but it really aggravates the hell out of me how some you guys like to talk down to fellow brethren SBR members like they are dog shit and trash just because of some stupid ass gimmick that SBR came up with...for the record, I do agree about the fraud concerns...I just think some of you guys are way overthinking this...and maybe there will be a few ghosts, multiple IP's, fake contestants, etc, etc but SBR and the Mod squad has done a great job of weeding those losers out for the most part!...Well, I look forward to joining the contest...any objections?!...

i know what you mean. i've been here on sbr longer than most sbr pros. the funny thing is when i was sbr pro before i let my membership expire, i was just like them. i hated non-pros in sbr contests.

A small percentage of SBR's total membership carries the forum with their posting (info, picks, entertainment value, etc.).

Far more members enjoy the perks but contribute very little, if nothing, to the forum.

Obviously the forum isn't all that big a deal in SBR's overall business plan. (read:$$$)

Of the zillion new "never fukkin heard of ya pal" entries in BTP, you'll probably be able to count on a coupla hands the ones that actually post something on the forum (and those will be questions in their self interest, only).

Opening it up to the public helps grow the community and helps to pay for the contest.

It is SBR contest and you can do anything you want with it when it comes to the contest format ... but it would be nice to improve your (SBRs) communication skills and let us know from time to time, in advance, if you plan on doing some important contest changes (sports, poker) and not just "hit" us with it

We have more means than JJ has wigs. We always have and luckily we now have even more. Nothing is ever going to be 100% foolproof. There are still people multi accounting at books on the LSE and that's with gazillions of $ and massive teams working to stop them whereas we're just a little sportsbook forum in the scheme of things. However we're extremely confident in what we have here and always have been. Now it's been amped up although of course we're not going to divulge how.

On another note - As Biter alluded to, contests whether they've been BTP, poker or whatever have always had heaps of finalists and winners who never post yet log in every day, always renew their Pro membership, etc. It's always been "I've never fukkin heard of ya" and people cry that they must be ghosts of staff lol. So for those who are going to start with the whole zomg I've never heard of them thing again... check their join date. There's a whole world at SBR full of people who either don't post or at least don't post in PT. Also if you see a BTP entrant that looks off for whatever reason, let me know via PM. I won't out you as a rat but I'll hook you up with a quiet freeplay if you're right. The more help the better to keep this one clean especially now that I finally can win $!!!

You just have to have faith that each major decision made - especially when it comes to our baby BTP - has been made for a reason. You've seen John, Bill, Lou or even myself come in with lesser issues and say yeah ok, we stuffed up on this one - thanks for the feedback, we'll update/change this or that on other topics. But when you don't see that then you just have to trust it's because it was so thoroughly deliberated beforehand and taken care of that we don't need to backtrack.

As for your Pro renewal Slanina, I'd hope you'd think it's obviously more than enough worth it especially if you renewed with points! That's a whole year of Store stuff, Pro contests, trivia, etc just for logging in each day. Also please PM me with the details of your missing BTP prize from last year. Just saw that post of yours when catching up on the whole thread.

If you even attempt to register another account from your household, all associated accounts will be permabanned. The fact that you're even repeatedly asking about this is a big red flag so you might want to give up on that dream if you want a chance to stick around SBR longer than a day.
