i had 3 bushes growing in the middle of the lawn, but they were dying. you can see one of the bushes on the left hand side in this video

so i took them out by the roots. now i am hoping grass grows in its place. instead i have weeds

but i will raise the height so the grass can grow better

Wow...jacked up yard. Fertilize plants and grass , plant grass and spray weeds in both early spring and late fall. Water before the dirt gets powdery. It's that simple. Scotts make an awesome weed and feeder for grass. Shit you want to permanently kill use round up and Ortho on weeds without killing grass. Again early spring and late fall or you are wasting your time.

Its true though......I will never forgot all the people that would cut grass meaning homeowners many were compulsive gamblers that were bald or had wirey stray hair and they all looked like fukkin killers..all were very angry having to cut their own grass and we would be on porch cracking jokes about him. We had 1 or 2 that even used manual grass cutter and they had to work like dogs to push that thing.

Why would you sweat your ball off and get bit up by bugs and smell like fukkin grass for 3 days and you cannot even get laid because of that???

Wrong... I generate over 3 million in revenue on my three businesses. And I cut my grass every week and fukking enjoy it. Yes, I can afford to have it done, but having a great looking yard and doing it yourself is what it is all about. It's my time to get a away from the fam, drink some fukking beers and have an excuse too do so.

Sorry, but anybody who cuts grass with an electric mower needs to head to the nearest restroom and make sure they still have balls.

Zeta, contact local tree trimmers, tell them you want some free wood chips. Wood-chip that forsaken weed patch you have growing and stick in some flowers or better yet vegetable plants. Do not plant the plants in the chips but the soil, use chips simply for ground cover. Chips will prevent weeds and other undesirable vegetation growing and will retain moisture in chips and slowly release water to the plant, meaning less watering and nearly zero maintenance.

recon, i dont want any weeds, bushes, plants, or flowers on my lawn. i just want grass. and i want it to be a similar texture/thickness/length for the whole backyard.

this way it is the easiest to maintain, as far as mowing, removing the leaves with a leafblower, and i dont have to worry about maintaining any fancy flowers.

i def like the guy's suggestion who mentioned the Scotts weed and feeder for grass

A rare trick that most don't know about, is that putting condoms on new soil helps the growth of new plants. So if you grab about 100 condoms, Magnum XL are best, and toss them where the bushes were, you will have grass growing there in no time
