    Advice needed badly!!!! HELP!!
Hi guys! I've done a lot of research lately on what it takes to invest in sports for a living and just needed help clearing things up. One thing that seems obvious to me is that CHASE SYSTEMS DO NOT WORK. That flat betting is the way the professionals do it.

When betting as a profession should I bet a flat amount (so well say $50 per bet) or bet a flat percentage (well say 2% of your bankroll every bet)? If you bet a flat percentage then your bet increases when you win and goes down when you lose. A lot of the people I talk to say to always bet a flat amount, NOT a flat percentage. Is this true?

my other question is the amount of your bankroll to risk with each wager. I have heard anything from 2%-10% and cannot figure out what the correct amount is. Assuming I am a conservative to moderate risk taker, What is a good amount to risk with each wager?

i understand that these answers will vary based on each person. PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER WITH "it depends on the person"!!! Please pretend that we are speaking in general terms.

        --------------------------------------
        Bankroll management:

2-3% of your bankroll compounded daily represents your "unit". Compounded, meaning you calculate your unit each day based on your current bankroll. Your bankroll doesn't need to be represented fully in your betting accounts, but it has to be a realistic number that you are willing to load into your accounts at any time. If your entire bankroll isn't represented in your betting accounts, you need to keep a ledger to track your current bankroll. There are no exceptions to this. You absolutely cannot bet a large percentage of your bankroll on each play and expect to profit.

The ideal bet size for a negative edge is $0.00.
The ideal bet size depends on how much edge you have on a bet.
Calculate your edge and then kelly + your risk tolerance.
No bankroll strategy can overcome a negative edge.

              it is all math

if you winning pct is above avg.. you have a greater risk tolerance so 3%-5% is ideal

anything over 5% and you risk over betting if your winning pct is not up to par

this is just for flat betting

Great advice JJ. Props and parlays are the quickest way to the poorhouse.

If you are a conservative to moderate risk taker, sports betting is not for you.

I have an unlimited roll so chase systems work perfectly.
