    Ryan Tannehill extended to 2020.
    @usatoday_nfl: Dolphins sign Ryan Tannehill to 6-year, $95M extension ($45M in guarantees) via @TomPelissero: http://t.co/AQkkICGI3E http://t.co/UcQi2u6yhY

    He's not bad, still getting better, yet to hit his ceiling. This is right in line with tier 2 nfl qb money so no they didn't wildly overpay or anything.

    Smart of Dolphins to do Tannehill deal now. If you let Wilson/Luck/Cam reset the market you get killed on this contract.

        He's had numerous chances to get Dolphins into playoffs and has failed the last few seasons. As a die hard dolphin fan I'm expecting the same 8-8 season. In his defense he has improved each year but he still can't throw a deep ball and he still holds the ball in the pocket for too long and doesn't use his athleticism to escape and run.

                One of the biggest overreaches in NFL draft history as he was garbage in college

                      Tannehill is not in the same galaxy as either of those guys. Why would their contracts affect how much you pay Tannehille? If Luck signs for a trillion does that affect Tannehill's worth? No way. Tannehill will get his coach fired this year.

                            NFL teams actually have open tryouts, give it a try. Wonder if any of those ever even get a 10-day contract.

                                      If you are comparing it to jay cutler, yes. Not inline with what the top producing qb's are earning. He shouldn't be anywhere close to their salary zip code. Look how bad Kaepernicks contract looks now and he went to two NFC championship games. Tannehill can't get his team to the playoffs and you are going to pay him according to Andrew Luck? Give me a break.

                                        As if those guys don't make mistakes and bad deals all the time. His contract is nothing to them, he's 23-25 as a starter. I look at it as they gave him the money because even decent qbs are hard to come by and a team could do worse, so its either you pay him or left with worse. After 48 starts with a 23-25 record, no qb should be getting that type money, but I guess some disagree.

                                          ...which is exactly my point. There's a handful of guys in the world capable of winning ANY games in the NFL. Who can the Dolphins pick up right now that is a significant upgrade?

                                              Peyton Manning put up a 3-13, 13-3, 10-6, and 6-10 seasons in his first four seasons. Two playoff seasons. That's a little more promise than Tannehille with zero playoffs and a couple of 8-8 seasons.
