If you are not factoring it in you should do so.

I forgot to factor this in when i bet on the Rockies last night and it almost came back to bite me in the ass.

Even though Eddie Butler passes the eye test and has great stuff his whip is horrendous.

dude falls behind in the count alot and it results in a lot of hits and walks

lots of 3-0 and 2-1 counts to start batters off.

If you don't look into it you should at least look into a stat which contains it (like FIP).

Eddie Butler and his high whip will on display in San Diego this evening.

Yes sir but I don't pay too much attention unless there is a .75 difference between the starting pitchers. Probably missing a lot by doing that though.

Ive never looked at WHIP in my life when capping baseball, I dont even look at ERA this early in the year. I just look at the last few starts, look at the streak on each team and the L10 of each team. I also look at how rested the bullpens are, and how they have been doing. Baseball is a game of streaks... Once June hits, you'll be better off not even knowing the standings. Concentrate on L10 record, streak for teams, and last week's worth of box scores for each team. Also remember revenge games, big series, etc
