...and right on the magic Day 12.

Can he possibly live up to the hype?

Maybe. I wasn't really talking about tomorrow. I meant in general.

Poetically enough, he homered in his final AAA at bat.

My guess is he leads the NL in HR's this season. Strikeouts are a part of his game though.

That sounds awfuly low to me. His HR to contact ratio will be outrageous. Just has that natural and easy lift and power. If he plays 150 games and only hits 25, that probably means 150+ K's and a sub-.250 avg. I'd be surprised if he doesn't hit at least 35.

This kid has the "it" factor.

I usually dont get caught up in the hype of prospects as most don't pan out but I watch a ton of baseball and this kid is the best player to come along since Barry Bonds.

I know that is a bold statement but talent wise he has it. The most important thing he has is repeatable mechanics and poise. You can tell he does not get rattled and the big stage will not effect him.

                  Seems worthy of the hype.

Tough start with Shields on the bump.

4 years of college. He was drafted earlier, but decided to do college. Only spent 1 full season in minors.

Means he's a polished baseball player ready to roll. Should be a bright future for this kid.

He is. Has a very advanced approach with repeatable mechanics. A student of the game type. His father learned from Ted Williams and has been grooming him since age 5.

Well naturally he was going to hit 3 homeruns today because he was hitting dingers off a bunch of kids that are now Walmart greeters in spring training.
