    Miguel Cabrera getting Bonds treatment
Only 5 games in. He's hitting .500+, couple jimmy jacks, and bout 8 ribies. Just got initially walked with guy occupying first base. And it was a righty pitching.

Check back in late May with lakerboy, he will be one of the worse hitters in the league if not all of MLB.

Would it be worth it to walk a batter everytime if his career OPS is always over 1.00?

Depends who is hitting around them but I would say no.

The value of a single baserunner is just too high in what is increasingly becoming a pitchers league.

One week in, it's not to early to say that division is a two horse race.
KC is not going away, that bullpen is still stacked as ever, might be the best since the DH era, and the two bats they acquired, Rios and Morales are raking like crazy.

You got a bullpen like KC's, you are going to be playing is games that matter after Labor Day.

well people forget about Barry Bonds' best years...

                          2001 OPS 1378
                          2002 OPS 1381
                          2003 OPS 1278
                          2004 OPS 1421

He had 4 straight years where walking him every time would be a great decision.

His last year, 2007, his OPS was 1045. Nobody wanted him in 2008? How bad of a guy do you have to be for that to happen? So sad.

                            Great post, smitch.

Bonds not finding a home in 2008 is one of the great mysteries of baseball.

I think the owners all got together and signed a pact in blood not to sign him.
