Not really, I just liked the odds with 10 minutes to go in the half and I didn't see another goal. The game was voided for everyone who bet it. The game finished 1-1. Other people were complaining too but I don't get their reasoning.

So can a soccer expert here explain if and why this was a bad line?

And consider, if a goal had been scored -- would it have been a bad line?

I don't know enough about soccer to say for sure, but perhaps they meant the number to be -350 or something. I don't know. But this doesn't seem to be the +12 instead of -12 deal. And not even a +250 instead of -250. Also, it was obviously very possible for the bet to lose. 1 goal and the bet loses.

Maybe there's more than meets the eye. But the post-game void seems pretty specious.

We would have to know what was incorrect about the listing to have any opinion.

But if Bet265 voided the entire market it would have been with a proper reason.

True. We're just speculating. It certainly doesn't seem obvious what was "incorrect" about it. But certainly that phrase doesn't innculate them from any responsibility. Surely they can't say it was "incorrect" because they meant to list -300 instead of -250. Anny line can be incorrect if that's the case.

Good point though....if seaweed hasn't already, he should write back to B365 to ask them to explain what exactly was incorrect about the listing.

Perhaps a fixed game? Look through oddsportal or a similar site and find a past scenario that lines up with yours, then check the odds to see if it's within the same ballpark.

They would not normally refer to a bad line as an incorrect listing. In my experience with them it would probably mean home and away teams shown the wrong way around or a spelling error or something like that.

Some smart type would have lost and complained about it later. Bet365 being a properly run book does not just pay the complainer. If there is a real error they void the entire market. They don't want to do that as it upsets lots of genuine bettors like Seaweed (apart from costing them turnover/profit). Which is why I said I was confident they had a proper reason.

But why would they not explain how it was listed incorrectly in the first place? Doesn't that seem like the natural thing to do? The spelling error thing is interesting. So does that mean if a game is listed as Charlott Hornets v. Chicago Bulls that all bets would be cancelled after the fact because they missed the 'e' at the end of Charlotte?

i had the under on that game too and it was voided

basically the game was incorrectly listed as a game between the mens teams when in fact it was the u20s playing and the halves were only 40 minutes, was bummed, lost out on 70 euros in winnings

I think players get those canned responses partly to make it easy and to avoid needing a manager to sign off wording every time they have a void. And from dealing with complaint cases, letting CS operators send explanations to players creates even more player angst sometimes. Especially when it's something that seems irrelevant to that player, like a spelling error. (but most books would tell any losing bettors complaining about the missing 'e' in Charlotte to get lost)
