I don't know the rules or deadlines offhand... but are you still allowed to be traded right now? Or will it have to be done in the offseason? After the playoffs? This took me a couple minutes to realize too. His contract is up at the end of this year, but technically the Lions could franchise tag him for next year. I guess it would cost $27 Million? So, maybe the Lions are shopping him around as a trade option. Either way, this will come to a head next March when the franchise tag deadline hits, or else Suh is a totally free man to sign wherever he chooses.

Just to elaborate, this Suh "blowup" is an orchestrated PR ploy to force DET's hand and give Suh more leverage.
