For the playoffs, after the clock hits 0:00, teams should play on without a clock until the next team scores, and then the ball game is over.

    Easy.
If there are ties in the NFL during regulation then it will force teams to go for 2 or not kick a FG to tie the game which will actually be causing ties to be less frequent. A team may gamble on last drive depending on how bad they need the win than the tie.

They should award posession to the last team to play defense. Kick off like it's a new half, first to score wins. Why treat it like a new game when it's a continuation?

I think they should tip the ball at the 50 yard line like in basketball. Make em earn it instead of a wimpy coin toss.

This would be pretty cool. But we'd just end up with a fumble pile up, I imagine.

We sorta talked NFL OT to death almost 5 years ago before the latest rules were implemented, if anyone's interested:

They should just continue the game with an extra 15 minute period.

The team with possession at the end of regulation maintains possession into the period.

The team with the higher score at the end of the period is the winner. If it's still tied, then it's a tie.

It would be just like starting a new game but with only one quarter instead of four.

I like a proposal I read sometime ago. Each team submits the yard line where his offense would start the offensive. The team taking the worst field position gets the ball at that spot. Game would end at any score. I suppose most teams would take about 10-15 yard, and it is a really though decision on who gets the best deal.

Yep, like this solution. Wouldn't prolong the game, wouldn't give one team an advantage according to chance. Might be confusing to the slower viewers, but people would adjust to it pretty quickly.
