The town I grew up in went from about 25k to over 45k in less than 10 years.

I haven't been up there since the boom. I'm in FL now, so the parents just come down here because ..... what's the point of me going to ND.

Anyway, they hate it. There is just a lot more crime and traffic for a town that size to deal with. The only plus side is if you own a house or condo, the value of both went up big. My parents place doubled in value since they bought it. Once it's time to retire, they sell and be long gone.
