    What can we do???
I had emailed my 2 Senators prior to theese assclowns attaching this onto the port bill.

Someone had just posted the otherday that we looked ok until after the Nov. elections.

How can we all voice our displeasure of what has happened to us.

Our freedom of choice is now gone.

Why doesn't the USA legalize, tax, and regulate this?

I am ashamed, outraged, insulted, and other mixed emotions about this crap.

This is a sad day in America

What I am going to do is try and get a girlfriend and start enjoying that more. Maybe getting away from gambling is the best thing for most of us.

Ya this really does suck I think we need to wait and see how the enforcement of this law will be done or even if than can enforce it. I will be having a plan B and that is looking for a local.

I am afraid that top rated sites like party poker will drop their US customers like they said but you will be left with the sites that are less legit and shady who will skirt the law. Thank god we are exporting this great democracy to the middle east. Now when will democracy becoming to the USA?

I think the government has made it clear that gambling is just not good for us and the society we live in. They know better than me so I'm definitely not going to be placing any more wagers online. I apologize to society as a whole for my detrimental behavior and from here on forward I shall always strive to remember that the state is more important than the individual.

Although I'm aware that this new legislation will in no way curb my ability to place a wager online in exactly the same manner I always have in the past; this time I'm going to respect the wishes of our omnipotent, omniscient government and find myself a nice salary position so I no longer have to perform these evil deeds.

Remember something here.....online gamblers represent a miniscule number as far as voters go

Gov't could care less about us because we are in the minority

12 million at Party Poker alone. That is not miniscule.

Also what does the act say about online bingo ? (cant be bothered to read it ). If Bingo is outlawed you have a whole new group of people who will be affected, most of these people would not even consider themselves gamblers. They have now been categorised as money launderers, and terrorists.

                  Well I have been thinking.

Gambling online has been illegal all along, even before they passed this stupid ass bill.

I am sure that the sportsbooks will find away to get around this. I make way to much money to stop doing this.

Worse case scenario is we will have to take turns "Plane Pooling" our asses to Vegas.

This is just the sort of invasion of peoples rights that mobilises people.
In the UK at the moment there is a huge political row over "bugs" that have been placed in trash cans. The bugs allow the government to work out whose trash can it is and to weigh the amount of trash they have. This should be small news , it isnt, people throughout the country are complaining about the government in their trash cans.
                    Eventually they will be removed.
The banning of online gambling is on a whole different level, I dont believe Americans are any less protective about their rights than British Citizens , this bill will not be implemented as intended.

Absolutely correct, DM. Although nobody is going to need to be plane pooling to get in their bets. The real concern should be how will the landscape change in response to this "financial-side" approach to curb online wagering. Revenue will most certainly drop and that is going to accelerate consolidation in the industry. As with any period of significant change there will also be a noticeable redistribution of wealth and new groups will come in to attempt at grabbing easy marketshare. This is a time when every bettor should carefully review their own operations and make sure their capital is only exposed to institutions with credible financial solvency.
