I went several years ago. It's quite a scene.

A friend of a friend used to be a jockey, and actually ran in the derby once. He got us in to all the cool parties and whatnot.
It was the year Big Brown one. I think it was '08.

Been a few times. It really is awesome. Never been to Arlington park for millionaire race but haven't been to anything like derby. Such a clash of classes between infield and paddock.

I wish there was a an expansion of the triple crown with a california or florida track , very little chance of rain and sloppy courses at Santa Anita but the Kentucky derby is still the greatest race in the world. Louisville during derby week is unforgettable, but you are right, the infield at kentucky oaks and derby days is really a mess.
