Stanley Cup Playoffs: Wild +120 over the Avs

Colorado is the 1 seed out West but they aren't getting any love here. Looks to me like we could be looking at a first round upset.

Are the Avs not as good as their record? I know Minnesota is solid.

People have been doubting the Avalanche all season, myself being one not to believe in them. They've proven themselves more than worthy, look where they finished in the stacked Western Conference. They deserve more respect, injuries may play a bit of a role, but I'm with the young kids and Colorado now.

Upsets in NHL Playoffs is the norm. I believe 6 of the last 11 years we've seen the President Cup winner lose in the 1st round. The Avs are beat up a bit right now, and their top players are very good but very young and inexperienced. Should be a good series. I'll be watching for entertainment value only.

MiDNiTe......when push comes to shove, every team has good goaltending these days. Not a huge disparity between the top and the bottom. Which tenders play out of their mind in April and May will determine who is hoisting the cup.

Wild defense is unbelievable... One of the league leaders in goals against... We've had 5 different goalies record wins and multiple shutouts... Goaltending doesn't win games... Defense does...

Playoff hockey always comes down to who can score garbage goals in the front of the net... I don't think it's possible to do it consistently against Wild D.

Puck possession matters and determined the winner of most series last year, Avs are terrible at it

Avs are simply a tougher, rougher team.
Their PP is superior & their Offensive Scoring Percentage smashes The Wild's.
Even if Min happens to pull out this series, they'll be too tired & beat up to have a chance in Round II.
I'm surprised Avs aren't -175
