Anybody make money betting with this guy the last few games? Got a lot out of this Minny team. Probably coaching a big time program in the next few years.

#5Lots of people on SBR were saying pitino wins an NCAA title this year, they just never specified which pitino or which title.
I saw you won the first half in the other thread big day. Good to see you get a W.Comment -

#14Minnesota isn't a big time program though - they are a mid-tier team that won't ever be more than a team that sneaks into the NCAAs or makes the NIT. There's only 3-4 Big Ten teams that are "destination" coaching gigs. Two programs I think that would be intriguing for Richard are names that have failed to get over the hump with their current guys - Indiana and Georgetown. Indiana to me is a real intriguing gig for him because Crean I think is on a real short leash. Both programs are treading water - making the tournament, but generally not being in the mix at the end. Georgetown especially, but IU is really intriguing.Comment -

#18if you talking about right now then yea Minny for sure, but kids want to play for GT and Indiana, they have way more history, can pay him more, and can recruit better. IMO those are the 3 things i look for when it comes to a bigger job which those 2 fit the billComment -

#21In basketball? Come on Tham. Since 1990 the big ten has exactly one NCAA national championship.
These Schools all have more NCAA titles then entire big ten since 1990. Amazingly three are still alive in 2014
Duke ACC. 4
Uconn. Big east 3
NC. ACC. 3
kentucky. SEC. 3
Florida. SEC. 2Comment -

#24I love you Tham but I disagree. Non conference that matters is the ncaa tournament, not some first round of a tournament in Hawaii in November. Big ten has one title in 24 years. Every major conference has at least five times as many.Comment -

#27I understand what all you guys are saying. Obviously those are two VERY historic programs... But I just don't see him moving to them. Indiana is a stupid school to try and coach at, some of the shittiest fans in the country. Turn on their coach and players when they lose.

I would take the teams in the big ten, top to bottom, stacked up against the teams in any other conference, top to bottom any day. That's all I'm saying. No conference has as many good teams as they do on a consistent basis.Comment -

Tham is usually spot on he is obviously just a loyal big ten guy. No other way you can make this argument. He talks about depth but this is depth....
Since 1990
Big east 3 schools. 5 titles
ACC 3 schools 8 titles
sec. 3 schools. 6 titles
PAC 10. 2 schools. 2 titles
Big 12. 1 school 1 title
WAC. 1 school. 1 title
big ten. 1 school. 1 titleComment -
