Good not like i want to play in the US poker or casinos anyway, neither should anyone else. I don't stand for screwing people to benefit yourself through the process, look at Pokerstars and Fulltilt as an example then they made poker legal 6 months later, people are still trying to get paid from 4years ago.

Yesterday The texas and South Carolina governors both republicans announced they are introducing a bill to ban online poker. The biggest backer of the efforts is Sheldon adelson the Venetian owner who spent about 150 million in 2012 election on republicans. Adelson Will probably spend much much more in 2016, again all on republicans.

the poker world immediately (especially on the main poker web site) went crazy yelling screw the republicans the republicans are going to destroy online poker. I spent two hours trying to inform these people that it's not just republicans, many republicans support online poker. remember the only 2 states with legal online poker had to have the law signed in by their REPUBLICAN governors. I also pointed out till just a few years ago harry Reid the senate majority leader and most powerful democrat not named Obama was openly against online poker in America. I was trying to fill the poker world in that we have friends and enemies on both sides of the aisle. Anyway no one would agree with me and they all think Adelsons a crazy republican because he wants to ban online poker. Adelson does want to ban online poker, but his most important issue and his wife's is actually Israel. He is the 8th richest man in the world with over 40 billion and the two of them are the richest Israeli couple on the planet. They care more about Israel then online poker, he has given like 300 million to Israel in just the last few years. Israel and the republican support of Israel is why he and his wife back republicans ......


So anyway I could not convince anyone over there that both the republicans and the democrats are screwing us not just the republicans. I even pointed out that for two years from 2009-2011 the democrats had 59-41 majority in senate a 256-187 majority in house, a senate majority leader from the gambling capital of the world nevada and a very popular democrat president. Do you know what we got from the democrats when it came to online poker during this time? Nothing at all as far as legalizing online poker and three months later the democrat DOJ in NY sued the poker sites so the democrat DOJ In Washington shut down all the poker rooms online. Arguing they violated the 1961 ( yes 1961) wire act. The best part is poker stars paid a 750 million dollar penalty and then the government admitted they were wrong!!!! Poker online did not violate the 1961 wire act, that law applied to sport betting not poker so our government allowed poker to come back but they kept the 750 million. Do you know why the poker world didn't complain that the us govt basically robbed PokerStars of 750 million dollars ???? Because 187 million of it went to the poker players that were screwed by Full tilt poker !! So they were happy and the DOJ kept the other 560 million and they were all happy.

Despite all this and tons of arguing back and forth,( it's a great read )no one would believe me that some democrats and some republicans are for and against online poker and we need to make this a non partisan issue

That changed today and unfortunately for us poker fans I was proven correct when 13 elected politicians 9 republicans and 4 democrats, including the senior democratic senator from California, one of the 3-4 most powerful people in the senate also submitted legislation to ban online poker. The people, and it was almost everyone that were yelling "it's all republicans !!!" Now had to explain why four democrats including the powerful mrs Feinstein were also coauthoring this bill against online poker. It was unexplainable their position was proven wrong

I will say this law banning online poker probably will never happen. Adelson hates Harry Reid and Reid hates adelson. Of harry Reid's eight largest donors five are major vegas casino companies and adelson to put it mildly is not one of them. Basically every other casino company backs Reid, adelson always backs his opponent. As long as the dems control the senate this bill never ever gets to the floor. BUT it has a slim chance if the republicans win the senate because then harry Reid is no longer in control of senate, he has to step down and the republicans take the top spot.

So to be fare BOTH parties have bills they want on the floor to ban online poker.
