I've been riding Tennesee train hard but it may be time to jump off and take Mercer
If these boys can beat Puke they can beat a bunch of inbred hillbillys from
backwoods Tennesee.
my angle is the Vols will have tired legs from so many games lately and Mercer has that

I like Tennessee here. They aren't gonna just shoot 3s like Duke did. Great upset vs Duke but it's back to reality now.

Mercer beat Tennessee 75-67 LY in Knoxville in a first round NIT game, shooting 56% inside arc while turning ball over only eight times. Bears were 23-28 from line vs Duke Friday, shot 56% inside arc- they're 78-31 over last three years, so this isn't a fluke. Mercer won at Ole Miss back in December, lost by 3 at Texas. Vols are playing for third time in five days, beating Iowa in OT Wednesday, beating UMass by 19 Friday.

That's because Coach K thought he could just roll in and get ready for the 2nd game and Mercer would just lay down He found out a bunch of Seniors would could shoot the ball punched him in the mouth and the Dookies didn't like it

A lot of people don't know that.....very tough academic school!
The Princeton Review consistently ranks it in the top 10% of all colleges and universities in North America.

Tennessee is not physically tired, they are emotionally drained - As soon as they found out they had to get to Dayton they had to pack - then they had a tough game v. Iowa, then they had to get on another plane and fly to Raleigh, then cruised the whole way v. UMass. Mercer seems fresh, Tennessee spent. All that inside the biggest pressure cooker these boys have ever experienced.
I def like Mercer 1H +4.5, or take Mercer full game and take any hedge at Halftime.

Yep, one of their few bigs. I expect UT to bang Mercer to death in this game. Plus UT has huge guards that can defend the 3. UT has been playing great basketball in the last few weeks. Outside of losing a close one to Florida they have been beating teams decisively.
Vols minus the points should cash.

I like Mercer to cover. They start all seniors and having beat Tennessee last year will give them confidence coming in. They know they can beat this team and that their win against Duke was not a fluke.

I can't believe that pussy for Mercer is sitting out with a concussion. WTF. Like the Killers song that we've heard played 2,000 times arleady - it's once in a lifetime - and he's passing on his shot tonight.
Pussy.
I assumed he had testicles and would be able to play a BASKETBALL game 2 days after a concussion. The fact that he's not adds to Tennessee's advantage and makes it a no play for me (although I did tease the Bears to plus 13).

Also, last years game was a total let down for UT that didn't want to be in the NIT to begin with. Their fans didn't show up and neither did the players (who admitted it later). Maymon didn't play in that game and Trae and McRae got beat in guard play. Stokes is a lot better player this year and UT is better defensively. I don't see a loss happening this year. I think UT players are licking their chops to hand Mercer a beat down.

Yeah this is like applying next year's Alabama football season opener to their shitty Sugar Bowl performance this past year after they lost that miracle to Auburn and ruined their season and didn't give a penetrate about the Sugar Bowl when they knew they were better than Auburn.

Although top 10% of all colleges probably isn't all that impressive of a list. Mercer is a better school than I thought it was.

Tired? 20 year old kids don't get tired playing a basketball game every other day. UT's starters sat the last several minutes of the UMass game. They didn't have to exert a lot of energy to get that win. And what are they mentally tired of? All they have to do is shower, dress themselves, and eat. Everything else is done for them by the athletic staff. Over 2 days they will spend about 30 minutes attempting to learn a scouting report on Mercer, shoot some hoops, nap, and text bitches on their phone. At the end of the day they will play their game.
