Don't think for one second Jimmy Haslam isn't a smart cookie. You don't just start a gas station, become a billionarre doing it, and then go buy an NFL team being a dumbass. Why would he hire two jokers to begin with in Banner and Lombardi to basically intervene with all football related decisions for the entire organization? And then go fire them, after they hired your head coach for the future, and presumably have to start from scratch all over again? Cleveland's problem was and is QB play... no bones about it. Haslam is BIG on a certain QB in this draft (Manziel). It wouldn't surprise me if the Browns were (intentionally) set up for failure in 2013 by having a circus in the front office. Chudzinski and Banner/Lombardi constantly feuded over roster moves. T. Richardson was a promising young RB at the time the Browns traded him (of course we all know now it was a genius move). The Browns are looking to package #4 and #26 (and more if need be) to move up to #1 to get their guy. This has been the plan all along, and it started before last season. Don't be surprised if the Browns trade their 2nd round pick for Cousins either. Even if they get their guy at #1. And even if we dont get JF, we get Bortles or Bridgewater at #4.
Browns QB's is 2014 could very well look like this...

if they trade up for manziel, they would be less likely to get Cousins, but ur probably right, that wouldn't happen. But if they settle for Bridgewater or Bortles, I could very well see them pulling that move. It can never be a problem to have toomany good QBs, and only one HAS to pan out. Then next year, maybe we are the ones trading a QB. They Browns will try to give a 3rd rounder for Cousins, but Redskins want a 2nd. Browns may pull that move before the draft starts, in the horrid case that Bortles, Manziel, and Bridgewater go 1-2-3.Comment -
