At the time, that was pretty fair. Nobody knew Nash's body was going to completely crap out on him the same year Kobe's did. 2nd rounders rarely mean anything. So "Mike" Kupchak got a first ballot HOFer from a division rival for two 1st round picks.

You gotta remember how bad the Lakers PG situation was at the time. They got screwed by Stern for Chris Paul. Then Fisher's production on both sides plummeted to the point where Ramon Sessions was an improvement.
