If it was said originally that a fan said "you piece of crap" to Smart, and Smart got up and pushed the fan, no one would be agreeing with just a 3 game suspension.
But since people thought there was a racial slur by the older white guy, the actions seemed to be a little more justified.
But now people are just backpedaling, and not wanting to seem like they were wrong in their argument originally now that there is video/audio of the fan only saying "you piece of crap".Comment -

Lip reading from the video of him that you can see - he says sorry I pissed you off when he realizes Smart might be about to knock him the F out for whatever it was he originally said. The audio doesn't really do anything for me. You can't tell who is saying piece of crap and who or what it is directed at.
After seeing it all, I would have thought Marcus Smart called Orr a piece of crap for the hog he was with. That bitch's

it was classless by Orr but not uncommon. In the whole thing the coach failed him the most. He didn't do anything he looked so out of sorts he didn't know what to do. Smart is only a kid so a grown man saying something like that to a kid says more to me about Orr then Smart. If Smart didn't do that no one would have ever have heard what the guy has been saying at all the games which people around him and know him said. 3 games is what the NCAA had to do it just comes at a really bad time for the team. They could lose the next three without him they don't have the depth. Either way it has all been blown out of proportion.
I heard on the radio this morning that this is the deadest time of year for sports talk, sports TV(without the Olympics) up until pitchers and catchers report. Well around my area of Boston where we don't have much college ball to talk about. The media was waiting to pounce on any story that came out.
