I worked in the mine at the time this stuff was going on that the movie with Charlene Theory or whatever the hell the Australian dyke's name is about sexual harrassment in the mine.

That movie was so over the top with a feminist-socialist agenda it was unbelievable.Ya,the hourly union worker thugs were pretty crude and nasty but so were alot of the women.One of the women even owned a book store that had alot of X rated magazines for sale.

You had a few of the women who were grandmotherly cookie baking types and the guys were ok to them and didn't make any advances or direct lude behavior their way.It was to the women that were always in wet t-shirt contests and such that were the targets.

So,the lawyers ''in the movie it was Woody Harrelson'' went after the company and won a sexual harrassment settlement bankrupting the company where it closed damaging the local economy.So let's get this straight,union brothers were harrassing union sisters and it was the company's fault and responsibility???If the company would have went after union guys giving days off.etc.every democrat politician would have been on the company's ass! It was the union that should have took care of matters settling the harrassment behind closed doors.No pun intended.Just another one of the 10000 reasons why I don't like unions!

Here is the main reason why the whole harrassment thing went down.As is the case with mining ,it's in a boom and bust economy where fluxation,demand,supply affects if the place is going ganbusters or shuttered up.It was virtually impossible to get a job in the mine at the time and alot of really qualified guys were told they weren't going to be hired.In the name of affirmative action,the mine had to have a quota met where they had to hire generally unqualified women.There was alot of bad blood over it.That was never brought up in the movie.

The movie cast and crew used to eat everynight at the only Jamaican restaurant north of Minneapolis up the street from me and they were all rebel rousing Hollywood libs like Harrelson.I was in the place one night when they were there and they got Harrelson to play Woody behind the bar.I used to get a kick out of him as that character until I found out how much of a lefty he was.

What happened?

Often times a company will favor the harassor (sp) if it benefits the company.... if it's he said, she said.... you can win depending on your position. Companies have no ethics and don't give a shit. It's all about the bottom-line.

We need details so that we can assess this.

I pinched a few girls asses a few times and got minor charges against me, heck they were all over 30 to, no biggie. THe one I got robbed as I had to serve 12 years probation but the other one I only got 4 years. Both claimed I pulled their pants down and i did not.

similar situation happened to a friend, he was male, she complained

they INSISTED he sign piece of paper acknowledging it was his fault, actions, etc. or get fired

to relieve the company of any exposure, that is all the company cares about, and rightfully so
