Guy, listen here. Let me explain to you thoroughly and logically why spurs +1.5 is a mathematically incorrect play and how i handicapped this game. Idgaf who wins, or how it happens, I would like to explain how your play is a bad one. First off let's start with the matchup history. This rockets team beat the spurs in San Antonio... twice! This is not a huge sample size, but beating the team with the best coach in the nba twice on their home court is not a fluke. The line on the first game was +6/+7 and on the one after that it was adjusted to +4/+5. So why is this line where it's at? If the rockets match up so well why are the books making this game a virtual pk in the dominant teams home court? Because you and your mother are going to bet the spurs no matter what the line is. The bookies job is not to sell the line that is mathematically correct because rockets -3 would be a tough sell and if Dwight and harden were to simultaneously combust on the court or something along those lines, they would be in a pickle. The bookies job is to balance action, and they always know just the right line to put out to get it ever so close. You better believe books don't use algorithms to read games, they use them to read their customers. Last but not least the spurs have two injured players. Not only does that leave the spurs with a short rotation full of aging veterans, but it also takes away two of their prime, and in their prime, perimeter defenders, including one potential future all star. So by betting the spurs you're doing everything but making a good bet. You're getting a bad line, and you're betting a team with a bad track record (yes, kawhi Leonardless spurs are a different and inferior team to the contrary, and so far they are not doing well). I think this one will be a blowout. There ya go.
