    I need help
Ok guys any tips or advice here will help. Im desperate and need something to break this funk.

Ever since last monday when I hit big on the chargers I have taken te worst beats ever. Im talking horrible guys and to top things off, the straw that broke my back was monday had Detroit tigers under 9 1/2 they score 5 runs in 9th to go over and worst part is 1 of those runs got on base b/c chicago outfielder drops routine catch. Then in the night cap I had SD against the dodgers and I dont think I have to tell you how bad that one hurt.

Anyways Im in a bad funk, im over thinking games, not going with my gut and losing. Dont worry im not getting out of control or anything. Im actually taking break till this weekend and will lower my bets this weekend.

So any tips you guys do when on a run like this? Anyway to break this bad mojo I got going on?

Usually shut things down for a couple of days. Get away from it all. No TV, scores, internet etc = Nothing. Clears the mind.

Not as hard to do as you might think, and quite refreshing to boot. Might not suit everyone.

I was recently in a bad slump too. 3 straight games I lost big because of 1 play at the end. 1 of them I had under 40 something. Anyways at half-time the score was like under 10 points and in 2nd half Argos rack up a big 20+ point lead and than the last play an interception returned for a touchdown to go over. The 2nd game was Montreal at 1 yard line. And 1yard is no biggie in CFL and the guy fumbles the ball as he goes over the top of the pile into the endzone. Ref rules it a fumble and replay shows no conclusive evidence but clearly he crossed the plane of the touchdown line. Montreal would have won that game.

So what do I do? I take a week off and lower my wagers like you did. But I also try not to watch the games and try not to bet on games that are on the tube. Also I've become more selective and have limited my plays to 1 a day and if there is no games I like, I won't have any plays that day.

Id say just sit back and put everything you got on USA ML, and make a little change off of that and then regroup on the weekend.

          Pistol Pete,

my advice would be to take a couple days off and/ or focus on some other sports (baseball is damn tough)...

If you find value in any of the games on the board, bet it. Long term, the math will work itself out in your favor if you are hitting solid value plays. Don't limit yourself to 3 plays a day, etc. If one day, you find 5 good plays, play them. If for the next 3 days, you can't find anything, pass on those days.

Unless you think those close losses are affecting your capping in a negative way, I don't agree with the "take a break" advice. It's the same in poker, if I'm stuck 3 racks but the table is full of donkeys, I'm going to keep playing and vice versa.

First thank you to everyone for the help. But to owned thank you. I decided that may negative attitude was affecting my picks.

I really liked the under in tonight Det game. I started to over think it and finally went with my gut and took under for first 4 1/2 innings and under for game and both hit. Feels sooooo good to get back to winning.

Its funny b/c I realized during that game how much we forget when we get a lucky break to win or cover but when we get screwed or dont get a back door cover it stays with us so much more then the win.

Good job PP. I had some tough losses on Kansas and Oklahoma MLs and the NFL Sunday didn't help, but you got to keep on trucking when doing this.

Your last comment is right on key. People always ramble off their bad beats in poker, but I just look at them like, "wasn't it you who just hit your two outer the other day to scoop a massive pot?"

What's happened is the past, don't let it affect your future capping, because there is no correlation at all.

I assume this was the women's FIBA USA ML? What was the line after all? Just saw on ESPN that Russia shocked them.

ML against Lithuania the day before was the play I was advocating, I slept all day and then went to class, never saw the line for that game. US was favored by 9 the first time against Russia, so probably about that not a huge upset really.

When I saw that on ESPN, I remembered your post and thought for a second we were talking -3000 to -5000 chalk.
