unbelieveble how the referee did not realize it was not a goal
Soccer is a joke. Have they joined the 1990's yet and adopted replay? I remember the last World Cup tourney - World Cup - tourney a ball hit the crossbar, bounced across the goal line, bounced back, and was called no goal.

refs check the netting before each half...
actually a replay of the referees checking the netting, during halftime break, was shown on TV after this phantom goal was scored

NFL referees make mistakes even after they review the plays
... I think there was a phantom field goal a few moths ago in college football and nothing changed after the referees reviewed the play

a review would have been good in that instance, but lets be honest here.
This shit happens maybe once every 50 years .
Would hate to have games regularly suspended for replays.
Just look at the Nfl, game is delayed every few seconds for replays and stupid challenge.
I know they probably do this to give all these obese american enough time to get more beer + cheeseburgers, but that would
not work for soccer.

What did I just see?
The ball missed, bounced off the back, and miraculously found a hole in the netting big enough to fit through? Seriously?

Wow glad I didn't bet on this game where's instant replay?

This is the most accurate thing I've read.

That is shit. I've seen Klose (a true sportsman) tell the ref that a goal went in off his own-hand, so it was disallowed.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Sure, because everyone knows European crowds are full of triathletes who don't know anything about beer and greasy meat. Nothing wrong with replay, the problem is how it's implemented. Ten seconds is all it took to show that wasn't a goal; more time is wasted with players arguing with the referee/posturing/rolling around on the ground trying to draw cards. Goal line replays will be here eventually, the powers that be just don't want to pay for it. At the very least once they knew it wasn't a goal B. Lever should have let Hoffenheim score, would have been a good show of sportsmanship. That said, I was on the over.

I wouldn't mind good show of sportsman ship, helps me get closer on the over..
I live in US and whenever I bet on NFL and I decide to watch a game maybe for just enjoyment, I just get really frustrated because of the amount of commercials. I under how US works, it's capitalist, these commercials pay for the airing, but it's too much.

It was an extra point in Syracuse - Toledo game last year. And there was no hole or netting. Just corrupt refs betting on the game.
