is Carlos Beltran a Hall of Famer?
I'd say he's a bit better than borderline HOF material. Discuss.

You have to be a Metfan to understand the biggest reason why he shouldn't.
He played hard when they were good, he quit when they were bad.
Was lazy, didn't run out grounders, slacked in Center, stayed on the DL way longer than necessary, never even showed up for a game here n there to hang out with the guys. I hate those kind of players regardless of their numbers.

Doesn't really have HOF numbers anyways unless he tears it up for a few more years.
Without looking it up I'd guess his career batting avg over/under is 277. And 330 hr's.

He's similar as a candidate to Curt Schilling in my opinion. Not quite a hall of famer overall, but with outstanding post-season performances, Tough call.

I am a Mets fan, Benny. You must hate him for taking that Wainwright curveball lol. That pitch was unhittable. He was a great player for the Mets. But as you mentioned, he's at .283 and 358 HR. He should end up with 400 HR as a switch hitter.

Schilling is the exact example I used when discussing this with a friend

its not going to benefit any of us if he makes it

Good player, but Hall of Fame is for the elite player. He's not there unless he puts up 3 more monstrous seasons, which is not likely to happen.
