I don't "have" to work.
I don't support anyone but myself, so I could quit working any time I want. Worst case scenario, the bills pile up. I get kicked out of my apartment and have nowhere to go, so I commit suicide.
It's not like going broke would hurt anyone other than me, so work is not a true necessity for me unless reasons to value my life come out of left field.
With that said, my line of work is fairly comfortable, easy going and pays rather well. My only complaint is I get busy at times, but I make more money when I'm buried with work. Why would I give that up and rely on picking games I have no control over for my sole source of income?
It's much better to never owe anyone a thing and remain self-sufficient at all times, Mikey. It can make maintaining a life of isolation that much easier.
Btw, Mikey, how was the yard work/sewer cleaning today?

I could have bet for a living this year. Most years I'd be on the streets giving blowies for 10 team parlays if gambling was my only source of income though. Brock is hot but he'll be there soon enough. gambling is a sick rollercoaster ride

Some people can do it but its very tough. Manageable if you're single with no kids.

Nope. I'm lucky to have a job I enjoy, make decent money, work with great people and have all the security a person could ever hope for. There are no securities with gambling, especially online. Limits, withdrawal fees, stiffs, thiefs, fukk all that. I got an employer providing me great health insurance for about $70/month (already covered over $100k for 2 surgeries), contribute nicely to my 401k. Gotta look at the whole package. I also get 6 weeks paid vacation yearly. In exchange, I get up 4 mornings a week, clock in and go to work and have to be a good employee and take shit from my superiors. But for me, it's all worth it.
