Braves announce NLDS roster: Leave off highest paid player Dan Uggla
The Braves announced their 25-man NLDS roster on Wednesday, and noticably absent was their highest paid player: second baseman Dan Uggla. He hit .179/.309/.362 (83 OPS+) with 22 home runs this year -- including .122/.295/.184 (40 OPS+) in September -- while earning $13 million.

With Uggla off the roster, Elliot Johnson is expected to start at second base for Atlanta in the postseason. Here is the roster the team announced:

The team is leaning towards starting Garcia in Game 4, if necessary. Left-handers Paul Maholm (10-11, 4.41) and Scott Downs (2.49 ERA) join Uggla as notable omissions. Maholm and the injured Tim Hudson are the team's two highest paid starting pitchers.

The Braves open their best-of-5 NLDS matchup with the Dodgers at Turner Field in Atlanta at 8:30pm ET on Thursday.

Bet the Braves would like Prado back.

Ugs is God awful, I even said letting Prado go to Phoenix will come back to bite them in the ass.

Now look, Prado is rocking it in Arizona, and Ugs is so lost is laughable.

He is awful. But, it doesn't hurt the team. Prado was a beast, no doubt. But, the "throw in" guy we got back just made a run for the batting title.

Didn't want another 0-4 with 3K's on the box score with the Upton bros. Guy rocks a schmedium uni

I like Johnson, and I understand the move, but his 12 or whatever homers from that position (3B) is weak ass.

.327/.363 part of the .327/.363/.459 is nice, can get on base. .459 is very weak, but I get it, you got J-Up and Heyward and others to supply the power, I still rather have Prado back though. No disrespect to CJ by any means.

Didn't CJ finish up 0 for 11 or something?

No clue, was referring to Ugla. Johnson started hot when he came to the Dbacks, then fizzled out and went cold. Seems like he's had a decent run in ATL.

This move makes Bravos better. Wish BJ Upton was right there with Uggla watching the playoffs. Both are automatic outs.
