Where is SamNCharge99 during this discussion? I wonder if he has any opinions about the doing of work.

If your back DOESN'T hurt, then there might be something abnormally wrong. Its called getting old.

If you're collecting a monthly disability check based on your back hurting, then it IS NOT legitimate.

Sounds more like working reluctance syndrome.

I suggest giving your 30 days notice to your stupid azz, under-educated, unqualified boss, then let them fire you short of your 30 days without paying you out your 30.......

then it's all UNEMPLOYMENT BENEMAFITS after that......$21000.00 collected & counting.......EXTENDED BENEMAFITS RULE.

Not working or paying taxes to this illegal acting government....GREAT!
Getting a bunch of your previous years taxes back, along with every day to do whatever you want......PRICELESS!

A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.

Hmm, maybe it's changed since I drew unemployment for a few months about 10 years ago, but I was taxed on my unemployment income just like I was on other income.

Anyway, I know times are hard and all that shit, but I don't buy into much of the can't find a job stuff. I've been laid off three times in my life and was always able to get back to work within a few months. Might not always be the best job, might not be in "your field," and you might have to tighten your belt and stay on the beat looking for a better job. But there's work to be had always.

Try going to the temp agencies about 6 am. Watch how many people are there waiting for hours in the bleak hope of getting a min wage job for a day Willy.

                      60 hrs + a week?
                      Two jobs?
                      That sucks.
There has to be easier ways than breaking your balls like that. The thought of coming home and doing another job is unthinkable

I'm not talking about anything recent, it's been this way for many years. And I'm talking Denver which I'm guessing isn't as bad as other cities.

i think it is much easier just to file a disability claim and stay home all day and gamble.

I have done that reno, or something like that trying to go through the Texas Workforce Commission. Got to swallow some pride, keep your chin up and all that rot. But just because the outlook is bleak doesn't mean you give the fcuk up. Hell, at one point 10 years ago I spent a short time working for $7.50 an hour cutting greens on a golf course. That was coming off a job as a department manager for an engineering/manufacturing outfit that paid very well. Also kept plugging away looking for work.

And no, before anyone asks, I don't really have much sympathy for those who dropped out of school years ago and never kept up with any education or job/skills training.
