#72Try again, wasn't comparing him to Brees of today but of 2001 when everybody and his mother said he was too short to play. His first year as a starter (2002) he threw for a whole 166 more yards than Wilson. Brees didn't really take off as a passer (yardage wise) until he came to New Orleans with a coach who understood what he had, a smart guy who was very accurate. His best year (of 5 seasons) in San Diego he averaged 223.5 yds/game. Probably a good thing New Orleans brass didn't just look at his stats.
Entering today Seattle's leading receiver (yds) was Doug Baldwin. So enough of the Tebow, Smith, Dilfer comparisons already. Swap Houston's receivers with Seattle's and it's no contest.
Remember when people kept saying that Tim Tebow had no receivers? Yeah because the receivers had no QB. Eric Decker and Demarious Thomas look pretty good now with Peyton Manning right? Sort of funny how that works. They had a crappy QB and they sucked, they have a real QB and now people talk about those Denver receivers as a strength.
Sydney Rice had 83 catches for 1312 yards and 8 TD in 2009. He went to the pro bowl, but he had Brett Favre as his QB.
Brees in 2002 to Wilson in 2012? You do realize the NFL had different rules back then? Just stop right now, comparing Russell Wilson to Drew Brees just makes you look ignorant.Comment -

#73I'm not acting like Wilson has "made it", you're the one declaring he's a scrub. Smarter people than you think otherwise. The comparison was to give you some perspective but that's obviously over your head. The only people saying Tebow had no receivers were bible thumpers and apologists. If you honestly think Seattle's receivers are on a par with Thomas and Decker you're the ignorant one. I'm just saying the guy's a winner and has done nothing to prove otherwise. Then again maybe I'm a dumbass for wasting my time.

#75How many short QB's didn't work out? You act like Wilson already proved himself. He averaged under 200 YPG last year. He completed more passes on roll outs than anybody, that can't last forever. His leading receiver today was Marshawn Lynch. You need to be a good pocket QB and he hasn't proven that.

RG3 ranks 6th in passing yards with 975 yards
Eli Manning ranks 7th in passing yards with 931 yards
Bradford ranks 9th through week 3 (not counting his week 4 gm vs SF) with 891 yards
Ben Roethlesberger ranks 10th in passing yards with 848 yards
Oh yeah and Brady ranks 20th, Cutler 21st, Andrew Luck 26th, Flacco 19th, etc.
So now do you understand that you keep bringing up the most meaningless stat?Comment -

D. Thomas 32 catches 551 yards 4 TD
Decker 44 catches 612 yards 8TD
Eddie Royal 19 catches 155 yards 1 TD
So yeah, all the limited thinking people were saying ahhhhhhh give Tebow some weapons. He has nooooobody. Then the sheriff comes to Denver and people realize that Decker and Thomas actually ARE good. They look good with a good QB. Hindsight is 20/20.Comment -

#78We get it bro, he averaged under 200 yards per game. Big deal. Once again, total passing yards means jack shit in the NFL. Want me to prove it to you? Here are passing leaders through week 3 (not including week 4):
RG3 ranks 6th in passing yards with 975 yards
Eli Manning ranks 7th in passing yards with 931 yards
Bradford ranks 9th through week 3 (not counting his week 4 gm vs SF) with 891 yards

Matt Stafford isn't as good as his stats, obviously. But if all you did was watch ESPN you might think RW had "middle of the pack stats". That's not true. He's bottom of the league. Like 27th down there with guys like Ryan Fitzpatrick who get cut and aren't starters anymore. He's not a very good passer.Comment -

#80Nope. I was on this trend before others. The Wilson dik suckers always come back to his win % and his low INT ratio. Alex Smith was all of that and more and the 49ers didn't want him. Tebow won games ugly and nobody wants him.
ESPN hyped this guy up to high heaven. I bet they do tonight too. They will talk about how he " brought his team back". Forget the Sherman pick 6 and the free 15 yards, somehow this guy who threw for 12 completions and 120 yards will be credited with the 20+ points to bring his team back. The clowns at ESPN won't be able to control themselves.
Kaep gets hype, Cam Newton got a disgusting amount of hype, Tannehill gets hype, RG3 has ESPN anchors riding his dick...
Wilson just does his job and goes home.Comment -

#83I'm gonna lay off Russell...for now, but only because the Seahawks are running a west-coast offensive strategy which focuses on short plays and time management. That's why there's no "Flair" to Wilsons game; it's a poke and grind type of strategy. That's why he averages 9 yards per completion....very typical with a west-coast offense.
Problem is, Wilson makes only 24 pass attempts per game and completes 61% of them. The rest of the work is done on the ground.Comment -

#90Russell Wilson suck period. He never were consider an elite qb. He way overrated. And that same go to Kaep, he also way too overrated. Kaep and Russell, are 2 suck QB, in a VERY good team, and well coach. The Defense should be mention more then these 2.
The pistol play been nullified this year. Team already learn how to defense that in the offseason.
I am a big fan of peyton manning, but man I have to give Brady alot credit this year. He truly an elite qb.Comment -

speak. english. please.
thank you.
and when your on a team like Russell is where your defense is better then any others, it comes down to your qb not making the big mistake. And Russell doesnt make mistakes. He doesnt throw into coverage and never puts himself in dangerous spots. Seahawks remind me of Alabama in 11. Had the best defense by far and Saban had McCarron in positions that he couldn't screw up and make the big mistake. Game managerComment -
