In typical fashion, the media anointed him the savior after one season.

Fluke year last season. Teams are prepared for him, he's not all that talented, never was.

News Flash: he was never that good. It's laughable that people considered him a real NfL caliber QB. Once teams get a few seasons on tape, he will be irrelevant. So will Kaepernick. Just like Vick.

Russell Wilson averaged under 200 passing yards per game last year.
ESPN forgot to tell you that stat.
He averaged less YPG than Ryan Fitzpatrick and others.

easy to learn how to play against that style , they got lucky last year, plus you got 2 good d's on both sides of the ball.
They went after Harvin for a reason. He needs another wr

ESPN was on his dick the entire offseason, top notch talent around him, lets not forget this team went 7-9 with Tarvaris Jackson under center a couple years back.

Seattle was 10-6 with him last year and that is with the bogus final call in the Green Bay game. Seattle was really 9-7 last year.
Plus the talent level improved and Beast mode started taking football more serious.
So if the team is 7-9 with Tavaras Jackson, and a better team is 9-7 with Russell Wilson then how valuable is he really? If Alex Smith was their QB, would there be any drop off? NO, you can get game managers on the market.
RW averaged under 200 yards passing per game last year. You get get guys to manage the game on a team with a great defense and a good running back.
Seattle has to call all sorts of roll outs, and special plays for him because he's about 6 inches shorter than your average starting QB. He can't see over his lineman who are 6'4. He rolls right all the time.

Typical "Sophomoric" campaign. The names are few and far between with players like Russell that have equaled their first year. Especially now that defenses have been able to really look at the read option.

Russell is the new Trent Dilfer, any chance they have is their D and him managing games poorly.

Well, Flacco only threw for 3800 yds, and 22 TDs. He got it done. He avg like 240 yds a game. Where was manning and brees? O ya, at home. 1 man doesn't win games.

He's #8 in passer rating, after having played a pretty good D on the road and then SF's great defense at home.

Oh yeah, he's also 2-0.

This is the dumbest thread i have seen. Russle wilson is easily top 10 QB in this league. Hes what 9-0 at home so far. Only player to do that since the 50's. yess that call against Greenbay was fluke but the Ravens pretty much won the superbowl off a fluke hailmary as well. Seattle is much greater than SF

Makes all the throws, limits turnovers, manages the game, heavily rely on run game and strong defense, but he's only been in the league for a year. ive seen a lot better quarterbacks do a lot worse in there first year. product of situation or young talent?

Yeah but ESPN says that Russell Wilson can RUN and THROW! AND HE'S BLACK!!!
He's Tom Brady with legs my ass!
Yeah he has a good home record because his team has the best home field advantage in the NFL. He's 3-0 mostly because of his team. If Tavaras Jackson was their starter they'd still be 3-0 and he's a shit backup QB.

Seattle has 3 starting offensive linemen out, Wilson is a sold game manager and has good reactions and good speed.

His o-line has been decimated by injuries. You guys expected 3 rookies to be able to contain J.J. Watt and the Houston pass rush?

SOOOOOOOO Typical.
It's never the black quarterback's fault. It's always his line, his receivers, his coach, his offensive coordinator, his defense, or the fans fault.

as many have already pointed out guy wasn't great to start with. Solid Run game and solid D to back him up. 3/4 of the starting QBs in the league can get to double digit wins with this Seattle team in that division

3 out of 4?
More like 25 out of 30. Matt Cassell won 11 games with the Patriots and he sucks.

Eli won 2 super bowls and is a top 5-10 QB.
Russell Wilson might be a backup QB in 3 years.

You're reaching with ELI there IMO as far as a possible top 5. Yeah he got 2 rings, but he also has the most INT's in the NFL last 5 years. He's not as good as ppl suck him off to be.
If you're a Giants fan though I guess it's ok to bump him up a notch or 5 lol.
