Office Photos: SexyWagers, CasinoVIP, BetGES, BetRDS

We need to get the rest of the pictures on our next trip out. There is a server room we should have snapped. Sexy says they will move from the converted house they are in now in Heredia to a new building during football. Hopefully we can show before-and-afters.

LOL Taco. Not too many of these offices are sexy. If you are a clerk you might be pretty happy with this setup.

After this Sexy discussion I would be very hesitant to play there. It's not just that they have decided on such a weird rollover rule - and there are apparently contradictory rules - but it almost goes to the bigger question of competence.

I can't help but wonder: do they know anything about running a bookmaking operation?

The office looks fine. There was just some weirdness in the discussion.

Maybe there's just a big misunderstanding. When I get a few minutes, maybe I'll give them a call and see if I can get some Sexy clarification.

Per-head service for bookies is their focus. EliteSportsbookInternational (betESI) is their biggest site.

For customer insight this is a nice setup..Lots of the books today are finding it affordable and employee friendly to be off the beaten path..

This operation primarily price per head friendly..They advertise on therx.com as evolution..beteagle..betez..bettordays.. cascades..etc..all do price per head as well..With that type of business line management, props, and customer service all very important..But nothing more important than the software these books use..

The agent side must be easy to navigate..The choices are many in this field..Another important aspect is the book needs clerks who speak fluent english..

To all agents, happy hunting..This is the time of year if you are unhappy, to prospect for a book which fills these needs..Evolution one of the choices..

I guess the agent and price per head camp is hoping the anti-gambling bills pass to drive more business underground?

The gambling bills are relevant, but with the software being agent friendly, and more and more competent people entering the mgt. end offshore, its a no brainer..You cant compete any more being in the states..

The PPH biz pays dividends, although a penny business..If you manage enough players, the numbers make sense..The software is expensive, or I should say the right software is expensive..

More and more agents are finding PPH the way to go..The exposure is minimal, and the agent gets to keep his profits..The pricing varies, but you pay for what you get..Whether they admit to it or not, all the big boys have a credit side, and if the possibilty exists they dont pass these deals up..

Just another extension of the business..If you find a shop with a good management team in place, nice site, and customer service skills, this is the way to go..

KNICKNUT..Love the moniker..I have been a KNICKNUT since the fall of "65"..lately its been plain NUTS..What that franchise is going through is borderline insane..But..

Its not unusual for these pictures to have been taken during down time..When they take these pictures they tell everyone to act busy..If they were busy, the cameras would not be there..This looks like a operation that manages at least 600 players..

    Okay everyone,
I would like to clarify a few things in regard to Sexywagers.com. First of all we are not a scam. We have every intention of being around for a while. The idea was to have something different, there is a lot of good competition in the industry and we were hoping to start something new and fun for the players. Our goal is to attract the recreational player, that’s why our limits are set the way they are. We don’t want the wise guys or professional bettors, because that’s how we will get hurt fast. We do have stable financing through our investors who came into this realizing it’s a gamble. They are behind us 100% and are also in this for the long haul. We are not perfect and we will make mistakes. From those mistakes we will learn and correct them immediately.
Many times we rely on our employees to handle things but they are not perfect and may say or do something wrong, again we will correct this.

As far as our relationship with ESI, like them we are using www.callecc.com to service us with their infrastructure and experience, we felt this was the way to go.
They do not have a financial stake in our shop. The post up business is new for all of us but we honestly feel we can make this work.

We are a little surprised at the D rating by SBR at this point but we are thinking it’s because we have no track record yet. On the other hand, other than a few mistakes, we have had no payout problems or major customer service issues. We hope in the near future, as long as we are doing the right thing we can be reevaluated. We are open to answering any questions anyone has.

Keeping all this in mind we realize that there have been many books that have come and gone, some just took the money and ran and some just could not take the beating. We can sustain a beating and the players will get paid. The only other things I can say is time will tell. So if you have any questions or problems you can call customer service or email me and we will do our best to help you. There will be a lot of good bonuses, giveaways and contests coming up. If anybody has any good suggestions other than go away, we would like to hear them.

And yes, these pictures were taken during the morning.

Thanks, And sorry for the long post.

    Paul

    Bingo.

Every book that has failed has, at some early point, said with complete honesty, "But we haven't done anything wrong."

But the hard fact is that most of them do eventually. SBR would be irresponsible to start books out with ratings higher than a "D" IMO.

Good luck to book and players.

Even when Spiro opened BetJamaica we started them at a B+. New books are highly highly risky. If you need confirmation on that write roberto@failedrookiebooks.com.

It will take time sexy. But when you do get a good SBR rating it will have meaning.

priceperheadexpert, good stuff. Not an area we are up to speed on. But it seems that anything that would slow up post up would probably help agent types.

SEXY..I never referred to you as being a scam..I stated the truth..I dont doubt for a moment that your company is a viable place to wager..

I welcome your attempt to enter the offshore market, either post up or PPH..The more competition makes the cream raise faster..Obviously I am in the PPH category, and more and more options are becoming more available in that market..

I like the book in house concept..makes for a friendlier atmosphere, but if you blow up you need space for cars and the neighbors start freaking..

More competency in this market will get more agents interested..

    Sexy:

You guys listen to the customer, that's good. A dimeline to -150 is good.

    Here's where I think you'll have problems:

No real reason to bet at your shop over others. The bases prices can still be beat at places like Pinnacle and Mansion, and matched by dozens of others. A 20-cent line on RL's and totals matches many books, but P+M will get that action with lower prices.

With basketball you'll fight -104 at Mansion, -105 at Pinny and Trojan, and a free half-point at Skybook.

    Football pretty much the same.

Deal -110 on those and you fight every book out there ( CRIS, Greek....). Goto -105 you still fight for bets and don't make much money.

What makes you different than the hundreds ( thousands ?) already in existance ?

New books are not doing well lately with many recent failures, making people reluctant to even try them.

Opening a new book now is like opening a Mom&Pop hardware store next to a Wal-mart. You better be Home Depot to try it.

Almost no truly new book has made it in the last 2 years. Matchbook, Trojan, etc. are linked to established books.

Good luck, but you face many obstacles.

I guess the sexy stuff is planned to be th difference. And actually, that is something different, isn't it. They do not want us forum punters, they want recreational guys that do not really compare the prices. There just might be enough people who like to bet in their sexy environment.

All in all, they are trying be unique. Fighting against Pinnys and Cris's of the world with price and bonuses will not work. We've all seen that. Good luck with your venture Sexy. You, just like every new book will need a lot of it.

I dont think the "sexy" part of the gig has long leggs. And I dont think you need it either. What will make or break any new book is good management(and owners), customer service and product. By product you need a good selection of bets and a very easy and stable player interface software. From there its a slow climb.

Having been in many sportsbooks here in CR, I would have to say this one looks like a decent sized start up

From what I can see, there are more than 20 workstations ( in some cases multiple computers on work stations ) which should have cost at least $1,000 each when you factor the cost of a computer, phone, line, desk, workstation license for sportsbook software. * reasonable capital outlay *

I see a few employees working ( quiet time ), but assuming there are 20 working for 1-2 shifts during football, at 6-10 per hour each, * another reasonable capital outlay *.

What we do not see, are the servers which drive this business, the PBX units which handle the incoming telephone calls, and out bound marketing calls, the stage/lines dept, etc

Basically what I do see from these pictures is that a reasonable investment has been made on the part of whomever owns this small call center.

The fact that it is in a house, means absolutely nothing, as anyone who has ever been to and worked in costa rica will tell you, and as such, the operation should not be judged based on that.

it is perfectly normal to see old homes converted into offices all around greater san jose and the suburbs

With all this in mind I am in no way stating that this start up is good, bad or otherwise, just wanted to put things into perspective.

    Betesi

My local uses them. The only complaint I have is with their phone people. I catch them reading back the wrong bet or trying to get me to play a certain side. They tried to get me to take Derek Jeter last night for the 1st homerun. I am not that big of a suckeeeeeeeeeer. I took Koskuke and Holliday. LMAOOOO

When i got paid by them last December by Neteller, before the slow/no-pays started, the transaction came from "CasinoVIP" named Neteller account.
