Dan Tan stand up and identify yourself
With all the people here with inside info on fixed soccer matches, someone must know Dan Tan the match fixer?

    Does he post on SBR?

"Europol did not publicly identify the ringleader, but several knowledgeable law enforcement officials later said on condition of anonymity that it was a man based in Singapore known as Dan Tan. They said Tan had been implicated in match-fixing cases dating to 1999. "

    Unreal.

"With next summer’s World Cup in Brazil drawing closer, a European police intelligence agency said Monday that a 19-month investigation revealed widespread occurrences of match-fixing in recent years, with nearly 700 games globally deemed suspicious. The list of matches is staggering and encompasses about 380 games in Europe, covering World Cup and European championship qualifiers, as well as Champions League games, including one match played in England.

Officials of Europol, an agency that works with countries across the continent, offered details that strike at the sport’s core: nearly $11 million in profits and nearly $3 million in bribes were discovered during the investigation, which uncovered “match-fixing activity on a scale we have not seen before,” said Rob Wainwright, the director of Europol

"This is a sad day for European football,” Wainwright said at a news conference in the Netherlands, adding: “It is clear to us this is the biggest-ever investigation into suspected match-fixing in Europe. It has yielded major results, which we think have uncovered a big problem for the integrity of football in Europe.”

        Wow, good video.

Tells the same story about Singapore controlling the fixing these Europol people are claiming to be so smart for detecting, but 6 months ago!

          The matches include

"A Champions League tie played in England

Other "corrupt" matches included World Cup and European Championship qualifiers and "several top football matches in European leagues"; An 18-month review found 380 suspicious matches in Europe and another 300 questionable games outside the continent, mainly in Africa, Asia and South and Central America. It also found evidence that a Singapore-based crime syndicate was involved in some of the match-fixing.

In Germany-based matches alone, criminals wagered £13.8m (16m euros) on rigged matches and made £6.9m in profits.

Officials fear this is the "tip of the iceberg"

We need natalie and sbrtv to get an interview with Dan Tan and get some picks.

The US is always behind on global news. Our govt has to filter through what we should see and shouldn't. That takes time.

Hundreds of ways. You can bet on anything in soccer. A player getting a yellow card, a throw-in in first 90 seconds, whatever

True, though for example: the yellow card market would be the easiest to fix and get away with, but the limits on such prop bets are too low and mainly rec bookies offer this, so not much money to be made for millionaires.

Surprised too. Always thought Soccer was too tough to fix too widely as you needed too many players on board.

In some cases as shown in the doc it does go wrong because other players aren't in on the scam. Cremonense keeper even went to the drastic measures of poisoning his own teammates at half time yet his team still won 2-0 so his attempt to fix didnt work!

Matt Le Tissier admitted in his autobiography that he bet along with some buddies on there being a throw-in wiithin opening minute of the game, so he tried to boot the ball out straight from kick-off but his team-mate Neil Shipperley wasnt aware of it so he jumped and headed the ball before it went off!!! So Le Tissier then spent next 50 seconds sprinting around the pitch desperately trying to kick it out! Amazing story

It is all too petty, even in china. $11 profit from something like $22 million bet (not sure on exact amounts). We are talking about millionaires making bets. Stupid really, not worth the risk for such low amounts of profits (relatively speaking).

Flora Tallin v Daugava Riga - estonia v lithuainia match in play looks fixed.. Flora opened at 1.85 to win, they are now half time 0-1 down and still 1.85 to win.
The bookies pulled the game at min 20, waited for the riga to score the away goal and odds came back at 0-1 half time lol
AVOID it though, keeps being pulled..

One of the articles I read I think each Serie B player (or lower level) would make 10,000 euro per game (and they said these guys were ripping them off). The syndicate would make hundreds of thousands if not millions, right?
