Internet gambling ban justification: facts to controvert
    Here's mine:

"It seems that U.S. betters as a whole lose about $4 billion each year just due to online sports betting," Croson said. "I noticed that the per capita gross domestic product of the U.S. is in the neighborhood of $40,000 per person, so that says that the economic impact of losing $4 billion is the equivalent of losing 100,000 jobs. This is kind of like taking 100,000 jobs and shipping them out of the US in briefcases."
I like "it seems" part. They don't have any actual reliable data. I'm sure those 4 billion are gross loses. But players have also won a lot. Bookmakers go bankrupt frequently and thats because players win more than they loose. Last year was especially bad for bookmakers. US bettors as a whole could very likely be net positive last year or at least close to break even.
    4 billion is absurd number.

4 bil as gross loses is IMHO very low number. It must be far far higher... but for net loses it is probably too high, you are right.
