Simple answer in the win now culture athletic directors need to hire a proven coach, or a hot young coordinator and won't want to spend mid range money on coaches who are damaged goods ie. Coaches who have had little to moderate success at other schools


Some coordinators can't handle being head coaches..

Some head coaches at smaller schools can't handle the expectations of the bigger schools and do better at smaller ones
