hmmm only Oregon and K State could deal with @mizzou, vandy, tenn, @SC, @UK, Fla, Ole, @AU? Yeah make that like 15 teams who could go 7-1 with that.
That's SEC East Champ Georgia.

UGA is the only team in the SEC with a ridiculous schedule like that where everything broke their way.....So yeah, I guess if you get the 1 in a million everything favorable schedule, then yeah about 15 teams could compete for an SEC Championship.....But after that they would have to beat SEC West champ, Bama in the actual SEC championship, which I could only see a handful of teams doing AFTER going 7-1 in the above schedule (Which most of them likely wouldn't anyway)
I just don't understand how a conference is overrated when they prove every damn season on the field their superiority in out of conference games and bowl games.....

Also, Tennessee Auburn and Arkansas are usually not close to this bad (Tenn maybe)
Look at the Pac-10 versus SEC record since 2007, using Phil Steel (Did not include Utah, Colorado, Missouri, or Texas A&M)
SEC is 7-4 straight up
SEC is 5-6 ats
Tell me where the domination is?

most of the pac wins against the SEC are pac top teams vs SEC bottom teams.

The SEC has won 6 straight national titles, 8 of the 13 since the BCS was started (8 for 8 when making the title game), and currently has 6 of the top 10 teams in the national BCS rankings.
Yeah, other than that they're extremely overrated, LOL. I won't even go into the 1st rounders that go to the NFL and so on, you'd have to be an idiot not to know where the best football is being played.
What you have to remember is there's a lot of SEC hatred. Understandable. If the PAC 12 or any other conference dominated football to this level I'd hate them as well. Just human nature to go after the best.

Don't even bring up schedule, are you kidding me? I went to Florida, for us to win a national championship this year (we've already got 2 in the last few years) here's what we would have to do.....
In week #8 we played Georgia. I sat down and looked at it. We had already played LSU, TexAM and South Carolina. We beat them all. We needed to beat Georiga that day, we did not. But let's say we did and was still in the hunt for a title.
So then we have to beat Georgia, at the end of the year we play Florida State. From there we have to beat Alabama in the SEC title game, and if we win that we then need to beat the next best team in the nation in the BCS title game, probably Oregon.
So here's the current BCS top 10:
Kansas St.
Oregon
Notre Dame
Alabama
Georgia
Florida
LSU
Texas A&M
South Carolina
Florida St.
So for us to win it all this year we'd have to beat either #1 or #2, probably Oregon. And also beat #4, #5, (we're #6), #7, #8, #9 and the #10 team in the BCS polls in order to bring it home this year. Not another team in the nation would have to do anything like that to win a championship. That's just sick.
It's ridiculous to try and win it all from the SEC, how it's been happening is almost unreal. Oregon for example might not play a single top ten team all year until they get to the national title game. PAC 12 is a fun conference to watch but that finesse stuff wouldn't/doesn't work in the SEC.

SEC football is mostly an I-formation, smash mouth, run the ball type of game. The thing is though, running the ball like that plays right into the hands of the elite defenses like Alabama and LSU, and it makes them look like gods. But when you run the no-huddle and spread the field like A&M did against both LSU/Bama, their defenses don't look as dominant and even seem beatable. Just some food for thought. The SEC though, is definitely the best conference overall, and would be the hardest for any team to play week in and week out. Not arguing with that.

This thread makes my head hurt. How many years have we heard about Oregon? How many times have they brought the title home? EXACTLY.
Kansas State is legit and they actually have a decent schedule.
Oregon playing a down USC team. Thats a key win? lmao
Perfect example of a middle tier SEC team. South Carolina. Projected Top 5 in the NFL draft goes down at RB.....and the team doesnt skip a beat. At all. Take out any of the other teams top player and the glass house crumbles.
To the guy that made a comment about Vandy being 6-4... Vanderbilt s coach is building that team up. You obviously only watch the SEC prime-time games. They are not a pushover like kentucky.
Also keep in mind. The SEC Championship game is ALWAYs a game of two top ten teams. You cant say that about ANY other conference championship. That is an additional game at the end of the season, while most teams sit IDLE.
Seriously...my head hurts. ESPN has money invested in the SEC. lmao If your conference is relevant....they might talk about you too.,

But of the "6 out of 10 teams" 2 dont belong. South Carolina is a 2 loss team that has 6 of its 8 wins against inferior teams, their only real quality win was against Georgia.
LSU is kind of in the same boat with their quality wins against South Carolina (a 2 loss team) and texas A&M
Now go one step further....how tough is their schediule from there? Its NOWHERE near as tough as most other top 20 teams .. North Texas, Idaho, Towen .... Really ?? They deserve to be ranked 7th for that body of work??
The 3rd team ranked in the top 10 is Texas A&M and it'll take most people to stop thinking about them as a big 12 team for at least a few more years
So in reality ... 5 of the top 10 are SEC, 2 dont belong there and none have the top 3 spots
Now the shitty part is ALL SEC teams have set themselves up to run the table, while the top 3 teams have actual games they need to show up for.
Yes 1 team will be knocked out by the SEC championship game but a few undeserving SEC teams will survive to muddy the waters
This confrence is over rated and the proof will come in the playoffs in 2 years

I have to disagree with you. For example last time Oregon got to the title game and played an SEC team (Auburn) everyone stated no way they would slow down the Duck offense, it was unstoppable! Oregon got 19 points, and Auburn at the time was a middle of the pack defense at best, nowhere near the top in the SEC. Auburn won all those games because of Cam and the offense, even I was surprised their defense shut down Oregon the way they did.
Even this year if you want to use TexAM, sure they scored 29 on Alabama, but even that was 14/15 points below their average. They also played 2 other of the powerhouse SEC teams - LSU and Florida. They lost both games, scoring 19 and 17 points respectively. And in the Florida game they scored those 17 points in the first half, after adjusting the defense Florida then forced 6 punts in all 6 of the possessions that TexAM got in the 2nd half!! They didn't score at all after halftime. No one else is going to shut them down like that.....
Fun to watch the Oregon/TexAM offense, casual fans love it as they're going to score a bunch on weak teams, unfortunately that gimmick offense will never be enough to win in the SEC. They play defense like you face in the NFL, speed all over the field, you don't get the corner, you don't get separation when you throw the ball and so on. There's a reason BCS has SEC with 6 of the top ten teams in the country, and even that is probably conservative. The SEC is so much better it's not even funny. Oregon is good, other than them the next best 6-7 teams in the nation are all in the SEC.
