I'm not sure why you think they shouldn't have a good team? No one on the team or coaching staff had anything to do with what happened, not to mention the timing of when it was found out. SMU, for example, was current/recent activity that the NCAA acted on immediately. I don't think they could justly punish the team to the extent of the death penalty when no current personnel were related to it. Just my thoughts.
