My BODOG experience, and betting with online Horse books...
First off, let me preface my comments by stating that I use online books exclusively for horse racing ... I've zero interest in online casinos/poker, and really couldn't give one shaved rat's nutsack about that aspect of the biz.

After using 3 other horsebooks (I'll get into them later), I decided to give Bodog a shot. I understand that they cut their teeth primarily with poker/casino, but I heard good things about the ponies.

Right off the bat, their customer service is TOP-NOTCH. Extremely courteous, knowledgable and efficient. If a CS rep cannot help you, they patch you to security ASAP. Security is equally impressive, and more than happy to assist their customers.

I joined about 2 weeks ago, and bet quite a few dollars. I hit a few big ticket exactas, and decided to withdraw a portion of the fundage. Now, I've heard horror stories about sloooooooooowwwwww payouts and such. Well, all for naught. I processed my request (check by mail) last Monday, and ... the check arrived today. It says "at least 7 business days", but it got here in 4. Can't beat that. Free withdrawl as well. Excellent, speedy, reliable. Kudos to them.

Their horsebook is quite user friendly, to boot. What I particularly like is that your winnings reflect back into your balance within 3-5 minutes. That's key when you're juggling 7-10 tracks. If you hit, you need that cash to turn right the hell over. Bodog gives you that, and it's key. Also, wagers right up to post time.

All in all, from the minute I joined, right up to this posting, they have been nothing short of OUTSTANDING. I give them an A+++++.

    The other horsebooks ...

allhorseracing.com: The most user friendly ... excellent graphics and navigation. Quick turnaround on winnings, but ... no longer accept credit/debit cards, so I bailed.

EHorse.com: Great navigation and ease. Bet right up to post. Winnings reflect in 5-7 minutes. I really liked them, but, again, they frowned on credit/debit usage, so I got out.

VIP: Horrendous turnaround on winnings. Sat there sometimes for 35 minutes awaiting the winnings. This sucks because it forces you to redeposit if you need to bet quickly. That aspect totally turned me off, and I got out after a few days.

Now, all of these sites feature "off" odds, 'tis true. But, if you're betting the horses with no knowledge except the online odds, then you are basically tossing a huge portion of your cash away.

All that being said, Bodog snagged themselves a regular here, and I will HIGHLY recommend them.

Thanks to SBR as well ... an excelent reference point for me. This site is an essential cog in the online gaming machine, no doubt 'bout that.

Nice bodog does do a good job with there payouts and cs. They would be the best book out there if they could fix there sportsbook to be more like pinny it's hard at times to bet sports there with there prices and late posting of lines.

Nice writeup. I would have never thought of Bodog as a horse book, good to know.

Yeah ... I had only heard about them through their poker rooms, a few guys I know played there. But, I was told that Bodog's horsebook was up and coming, and that info was spot on.

A few additions to my earlier post ... put in another payout request yesterday, check has already been processed, and is on the way. I cannot stress enough how much at ease that makes wagering on that site. Deposits are easier to make when you know the payout is all but guaranteed. The reason I had apprehensions about payouts was because I had read here on SBR that they (payouts) can be a real bitch. It was a huge factor in me not using an online horsebook 'til just recently, just in time for the Belmont.

As far as bonuses go, let me elaborate on the sites I mentioned:

allhorseracing: 10% initial deposit, 3% on WPS and 5% on exotics weekly. Excellent kickback.

EHorse.com: Same as above, no complaints there.

VIP: 10% initial, then a kickback on the 1st of each month. Kinda long to wait, but that nut is naturally bigger. They also have a "rewards" program, which I could personally do without. Gimme the CASH back.

Bodog: A very generous 10% on each deposit. There are rollover requirements (5x if depositing with ATM/Debit), but, if you're craving and betting all the action you can handle, it rolls over FAST. Hasn't been a problem.
Each Tuesday you get 3% of all WPS bets (win or lose), and 5% on all exotics (win or lose). It's a nice chunk of change to kickstart the dead part of the week.

All in all, only VIP has a suckage bonus plan. The other 3 are very compliant to their horse players.

PS- Thanks for the welcoming comments ... glad to share a good experience.
