Trade Rumor Carolina trading Steve Smith to Steelers for Mike Wallace
Very interesting trade. I kind of think it will help both teams if it happens.
Deangelo Williams may also be included in this trade.

That is a weird trade to me. However, if the Steelers can pull of DeAngelo Williams, they definitely get a lot better.

what is the lengths remaining on these guys' contracts? its just one year for Wallace right?
I feel like it would take some time for the QB's to get a good rapport so if its just for one season I don't like it for either team, but at least Wallace can just run flys and posts and out run everyone and get open without worrying too much about having a "connection" with Newton

I'm calling BS. I have heard rumors about teams inquiring for Steve Smith but where have you seen any info on this particular trade rumor? Any trade involving DWill is umlikely due to his contract and the cap hit.

Not true at all,
Steve Smith is too much I to be a productive Steeler,
Steelers are stacked with receivers Brown,Wallace,Sanders,Cotchery and TE Miller who Ben is trying to get to the pro bowl this year by including him a great deal more in the passing game unlike heavy blocking tasks from years past.......

Smith is the same type of receiver as sanders and brown in style, routes and size. It would be a mistake IMO but I'd still have to look at the contract situations.

It was on Mac Attack show on the radio
in North Carolina.. Just a rumor but several
teams have contacted Panthers about Smith and Williams
and the Steelers may want to trade Wallace since his contract
is up after this year or something like that

Ironically, I have both Smith and Wallace on my Fantasy team. This is not going to happen though.

I guess the deadline is tomorrow but good chance somebody is
atleast getting D-will.
hes actually an explosive play maker in open space
but the panthers have the worst offensive line in the NFL
so he hasnt been getting any lanes to run in.

Panthers need to move D-Will bc he has a massive contract and they are looking to clean house and free up cap space for next year since this season is already over for the panthers.
Smith, williams, jordan gross, jon beason, jimmy clausen, armanti edwards, david gettis
will be all be gone soon.

This rumor is just that. Both teams thought about when Mike Wallace had his little holdout. You probably read some article about it and didn't check the date.

no they are discussing it today.
By tomorrow there is a good chance
Steve Smith and D-will
will no longer be panthers. The Steelers are just a rumor
there have been several teams inquire.
Another rumor is trading these 2 to the cowboys for dez bryant

I hate how people try turning the NFL into the NBA or NHL with trade talks. With the salary cap, you aren't going to see any moves of any consequence until after the season - and in some cases (like Deangelo Williams - who is going to be cut), after June 1.
No one has the space to add a big time veteran (at least no team of any consequence).
Further, how frigging dumb would it be to lose say 4-5 mil of your cap for a short-term potential solution? You can use that 4-5 to front-load an extension for a key core player.
Sorry, this NFL trade rumor shit is irritating and retarded. None of it makes any sense. Lol Steven Jackson to GB... That's rich.

Ok guys steve smith was quoted from the
locker room saying the only way he is leaving the Panthers is of they cut him.
There is still a good chance Deangelo Williams gets traded.
The Packers and Jets are the 2 front runners

The Packers aren't going to make a move on Steven Jackson or DeAngelo when they want to burn cap money on critical players like Clay Matthews or Aaron Rodgers. You can carry over cap space to the next year - and the Pack is going to need all the cap money they can get. They already can't afford to keep Greg Jennings most likely - why would you bring in a back that has under-performed after signing a mega-deal?
Heh, not even worth talking about. Ted Thompson doesn't make these kind of deals.
That isn't to say, they won't be players after said players are cut or walk next year.

Definitely an interesting trade, as others have said trades like this just do not happen in the NFL, so doubtful at best.
