Tulas -17 is definitely the play. But keep in mind, UTEP only lost to Wisonsin by 11. They have the capabilities of keeping it close.

Yep. Plus, Wisconsin was up by 18 with about 3 minutes left. UTEP converted a garbage 4th down on their own 30 and then scored on a 60 yard catch and run with under a minute left. The corner got beat bad and the damn safety for Wisconsin went for the pick and missed.

UTEP also got shutout by SMU at home this past week. They are not playing well.

Because UTEP has lost 5 of 6, and have been very bad in there last two games to East Carolina and being shut out 17-0 to SMU at home. There offense has been nonexistant. On the other hand Tulsa has begun to roll, leading Conference USA in rushing and scoring, and there rushing game is averaging 7 yards a carry on the ground, which is going to be a gigantic problem for UTEP, as they rank 103rd in the country in rushing defense, allowing over 5 yards a carry. If this is not bad enough, the offensive line for UTEP is horrible, and Tulsa is expected to blitz them at every opportunity. Also Tulsa actually leads the country in sacks and tackles for losses.
There is much more I can add to why I think Tulsa will cover the first half spread of -10, but I believe this is sufficient. I just expect them to come out of the gate lighting it up, and UTEP will never know what hits them until it is to late.

you haven't given one good reason why you like the first half rather than the full game. so basically you feel like there will be a backdoor cover for utep. correct?

That is always possible, but I just think that Tulsa will blow them out in the first half for the reasons I stated above. I believe they are coming out with high energy and with the intention of blowing them out early.
