    Virtualbookmaker - odd behavior ???
Virtualbookmaker is one of the books that used to be the VO Group and is now under the BETonSPORTS umbrella. Their current SBR rating is D.

I received a PM about something this book is doing which sounded very unusual to me. So I tested it out for myself and found the report to be true.

To summarize: I called to ask if I could get the 20% Neteller bonus advertised on their home page. They said I could if I let them enter the Neteller transaction. To do that, I would have had to give them my Neteller secure ID over the phone.

I asked if I could just do the transaction through the Neteller deposit option on the website (like I have done many times before with other VO clone books like MVP and V-Wager). I was told that I could but wouldn't get the bonus. After I pushed it a bit I was told, okay, I could get a 20% freeplay if I did the deposit myself but would get 20% cash if I let them enter the transaction.

In effect they were willing to pay for my Neteller secure ID.

Does this seem odd to anyone else?

Yes it does seem odd. You have to enter it on most sites anyway so I'm not sure why they wouldn't have access to that way. I'm not sure what the difference would be. Sounds fishy and I wouldn't give it to them since you can turn the freeplay into a great deal of cash anyways.

I also found it very odd when they asked me if they could take my neteller info over the phone. If igured I've given them my credit card info, and in thoery they should also have my neteller info, so maybe it wouldn't hurt. Of course it does make it a whole lot easier for an unscrupulous clerk to write down my info, and user it for later personal use.

My guess is that the reason why they clerks press to have you give them the info and let them do the depsoit oer the phone is then the clerk you are speaking to gets credit for your deposit, and likely gets some type of commission.

You're probably right but the clerk I spoke to went to great lengths to avoid saying that. I wouldn't have found it offensive if that were true - I can relate to a guy wanting to make some money - but he wouldn't say it.

I still wouldn't give out my Neteller secure ID though. Not with the current climate as relates to the security of players' sportsbook info.

IMO, if it is all about commisions, they just need to find some other way to do it.

(Taking another step back, I personally wouldn't play with any BETonSPORTS books anyway due to my lack of trust in them, particularly surrounding bonuses.)
