You will be adding Barkley to the list of overrated USC Quarterbacks.

I think Barkley will still be a better addition than Weeden will ever be for the Browns. Hell even Colt McCoy is a better choice at starter than Weeden is.

Browns are my last hope to match the 2008 Lions. They said it couldn't be done. Too much parity. Too many opportunities. No way an NFL team could choke away 16 straight. But they showed a ton of heart and commitment on their way to a record breaking 0-16, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory every Sunday. I'll never forget that magical season.

Can the brownies match that feat? They have a few very winnable games on their schedule still, so it will take lion-like effort. Why not them?

How many duds have to come out of USC, before we stop looking forward to the next USC quarterback?

Last year I was hoping RG3 would go to the browns....
Weeden would have a chance to develop if he wasn't already pushing 30 (cant believe they got him in the 1st round)
Honestly don't think they will go for another QB given they have Weeden and Mccoy.
They Have a ton of talent though and in a couple years they will be some sort of contender given Steelers and Ravens are on the decline and Bengals have alternating good years.
But I always thought Mike Holmgren was a moron...

Holmgren will be out in about a week when the new owner sees how much he is getting paid.

is anyone here actually from Cleveland or watch the Browns every week? We are pathetic, a bunch of immature divas that dont know how to play the game of football. We have no proven veterans at any position and our HC is an unmotivating bum. My browns will be the worst team in the league, possibly 2-14 this year. Barkley is not the answer, I would think we will happily trade down from the #1 spot and get DEFENSIVE players. Our D is atrocious. And get a veteran WR. Shurmur will be gone, we need an authoritarian HC, like a Gruden, Cowher, or Herm Edwards. Barkley is just a hypeman

Barkley will either get drafted by the Browns, Raiders or Chiefs.

Peyton Manning is the one that makes average recievers become better.

Colt McCoy showed some decent signs last year, his first year as a starter. Not saying he got the job done, but there was some encouraging play/progress. They needed OL/recveiver help DESPERATELY, and everyone knew that. So...The Browns go draft a 45 year old guy out of college, and now, point to OL/receiver issues as a concern/cause for some of Weeden's struggles.

So, they really should just draft to set up the current QB for success. However, they are Cleveland, and the smart thing to do seems to violate some city ordinance or something.

Cant say if Matt Barkley is or isnt the guy, but watching the Browns, I would say that theyre biggest need is a number 1 wide receiver. Greg Little is a #2 at best, and I really like Travis Benjamin in the slot for them. Jury is still out on Weeden IMO.

Now that Revis is out, Joe Haden is without question, THE BEST CORNER IN THE NFL. Anybody who disputes this simply doesnt any game footage of the Browns. Haden is a stud. There was a reason why the Browns had the #1 pass D for about 10 weeks last season.
TJ Ward is a nice saftey, and they have a couple nice Pass Rushers in Rubin and Sheard.

Could definitely see them going 8-8 next year.
