    NFL exce are fkn brilliant
Lets assume some NFL executives rigged that call to be a TD

Not only will they get to fine the shit out of anyone who says anything remotely bad about the refs, this kind of controversy is exactly what the NFL wants.

You think people will stop watching NFL next week because of this shit? No fkn way. All you degenerates are already looking at lines for next week. Nobody fkn cares.

NFL will make millions off this one monday night game.

This how the world works. Everyone is under the impression that the NFL is under some moral obligation to put the best refs out there. They don't care about anything except the bottom line. Why should they?

There isn't a company or politician out there who wouldn't slit your throat for an extra $15. Get with it, fellas.

yea this is not the olympics, no real obligation for fairness. sad that players get hurt trying so hard though. nfl should sell it more like wrestling though and stop with the bs. obviously not a real sport right now.

Just heard that last night's Sportscenter was the highest rated Sportscenter in the history of ESPN.

Get all the peons to fight with each other and divide up our money in the back room.

While I'm sure they are not complaining about any boost in money coming in caused by the controversy, at some point they have to draw a line and be concerned about the integrity of the game. If the integrity of the game collapses, then they lose money long term. While a situation like this might cause a temporary boost in revenue due to the publicity blowing up, if it happens more and more people do eventually say fuk this shit and turn away. A huge reason why experiments like the XFL were so ill-fated was that people couldn't really get into it because there was no integrity to the game, it was like a circus. People want to see a game where the world's best athletes play their hearts out every week, while anchored to a reliable and professional system of rules and officiating, occasional mistakes notwithstanding.

I agree that something like this provides a short-term boon to the nfl, but you are being cynical to think the nfl execs are actually truly happy about it, rubbing their hands together and cackling maniacally while they count money. They are smart businesspeople, and smart businesspeople think about the long term.

Why would the NFL give in now? It's not like any of us will turn off the TV on Sunday, Monday and Thursday.. right? The NFL isn't losing money because they hired Foot Locker employees.

I guess the NFL rigged the bad calls on the Seahawks on the GB scoring drives before the call came in from Vegas to change sides.

Never blame on malice what can be attributed to incompetence.
