I was dating my X and asked her if she was interested in going to a Billy Idol concert. She was all for it and very excited. However her parents were dead set against it. Rather than fight them as she was still living at home she obeyed. I didn't understand at that time why they objected.
So I called an audible and we went to see Rod Steward instead. Her parents were somewhat apologetic the next time they saw me. I said the concert was Great and we had a fabulous time and I was glad we choose that concert.
What I failed to mention was that their daughter had drained my pipes in my car before the concert while we were in the parking lot. I guess that was her way of rebelling.I'll always think fondly of the L.A. Forum's parking lot because of that night.
I guess Billy Idol earned an assist in a round about way.
