Improper money management by Lakerboy and Paco.
I don't mean to be disrespectful by using them up as an example. But I want to discuss on what they did was inefficient.

If you bet 1 unit $100 on a game and win. Then you get a 1-0 ATS record.
If you bet 1 unit $100 on a game and lose. Then you get a 0-1 ATS record.

Lakerboy's recent Jets bet against the Broncos, which was a loss. From what I read, he lost $4000 on the Jets. He does not have a 0-1 ATS record, his record is actually 0-40 ATS record. That's if he represented 1 unit as $100 and bet 1 unit on each game on average..
He basically lost 40 NFL bets on one game.

Last week, he won the Saints and Cowboys bet, I believe it was 1 unit on each game, which was 2-0 ATS.
But with the recent Jets loss. It's actually 2-40 ATS.
With proper money management, it's a 2-1 ATS record
Without proper money management, it's actually a 2-40 ATS record.
That's why money management is important.

Paco's bet on the Colts against the Titans during the 2010 NFL season, which was a loss. He lost $6300 on the Colts. His record is actually 0-63 ATS. That's if he represented 1 unit as $100 bet and 1 unit on each game on average.

I noticed that both Lakerboy and Paco dumped most their money on teams on the ROAD instead of at HOME. They completely ignored home advantage. Some teams do well on the Road, these teams are not those teams.
If you had to dump all of your money, make sure the team is playing at HOME.
And you shouldn't be dumping all of your money at all because that's improper money management.

By the way, there is no such thing as a square gambler or a sharp gambler.
The casino line makers are the sharps, the gamblers are the squares.

So you basically say one should use flat betting instead of variable stakes.

Anyone who doesn't use trends and other math-related factors as strong handicapping determinants should do at least fairly flat betting. I see many handicappers do better on low-unit selections. Many use like ~7 different unit totals per play. For this to be rational, you should have established a winning percentage difference between each unit total. Most people should have only two or three different wager amounts.

I registered on this website just to post on this thread. Definitely agree with the OP, as I usually cap at above 57% on Sundays, and ONLY Sundays, but I'm just a greedy bastard that loves parlaying everything so even if you're right 99%, betting small and straight up is the way to go...Unfortunately, I don't think I will ever learn to control myself and stay within those rules.

EDIT: Why do people take pleasure in seeing other people's bets lose, when they themselves have nothing to gain from it? Karma is a bitch.

you are a absolute fool if you think all men were created equally and if you think every bet you make has the same exact edge

flat betting is for newbies and destined losers

Most gamblers would be better off flat-betting.

I doubt you know the difference yourself.
