NFL 2011-2012 Week 8 Recap

5 - 5 = -1.3x

NFL 2011-2012 Season

46 - 42 = +1.5x

Big Monday night to save us from a real tough week. Bottom line is that Saints and Titans games killed us this week. A few bounces our way and we are 6-3-1 for a nice week. Nevertheless, we stay in the black for another week. It's time to go on a run though and really ratchet up that profit. Breakout week around the corner...

I know Red.. I had the same thought yesterday in the hospital.. Just wait until I type it up. What are the chances that several people who have never met, yet type to each other daily will all have serious issues health wise within the same month? I wish I had odds on that. Likely +100000.

Definitely want to stay healthy. As I said, I do not think wagering stressed my body out, but I'm listening to the doc and its not worth it. With my luck, you guys will go 30-0 the next few weeks, LOL.

I will say it will be weird being at a game this weekend without a wager on it at all, but so be it. I will be first to admit that both the Jets and the Bills were unpredictable. I mention below my 17 Season Wins wagers, and neither the Bills or Jets are teams I played, although I did think of the Bills, and regret not taking them.

We'll see at the end of the weekend who is laughing. With both our luck, the game will end in a 3-3 tie.

Too bad.. Woke up this morning and read about Rivers fumble. Bonehead. I could have really used that San Diego win and KC loss.

When I locked in the packers/chargers under at 53 before they took the game off the board, the packers were listed as -4.5 favorites.

BUT I also locked in the ravens -3.5 against Jville & we know how that turned out. I'm more confident in the Pack though.

Of course the real danger in making these plays is the whole injury variable.

No problem bro. If I was making individual game bets, I would have bet the UNDER, and definitely liked the Teaser and would have tailed that pick - and in that case, I would have been definitely on KC.

Since I placed no wagers, and went to bed at half time, my only active wagers are SD over 10 wins and KC under 8 Wins, so I had to be on SD selfishly.

Ya - this game will hopefully be a good game with Bills vs. Jets. Not like the old days. I think it will be exciting (I was at the Oakland vs. Bills earlier this year in Buffalo, and that was a great game to be at). I know people who were at the Bills. vs. Redskins this past Sunday in Toronto, and they were really pissed off. Very boring game.

I'm not just saying that cause I'm going to the game, and if I were still betting, I'd bet Buffalo as a matter of principle of being at the game and making the experience more fun. I just don't see the value on either side, and if I was still betting, and not physically going to the game, I'd be really worried about that one a lot.

The Jets are not without their warts but I think we are being underestimated right now. This is not the first time we have gotten out the gate slow, we tend to play better with our backs against the wall. We lost 2 games this year when Mangold went out, and our OL was in shambles. Sanchez gets so much heat but has been to the AFC championship game twice! He can make throws, many times he is just handcuffed too much by Schotty. We are top 3 special teams, and have a shut down corner that can take a teams top weapon OUT of the game. Plaxico was running around like a chicken without a head for a few weeks, and it is only now that he is starting to get some precision to his routes and some chemistry with Sanchez. Keller and Santonio have game breaking abilities at there respective positions.

I am impressed with the Bills and think this game will be tough, but I think the Jets are the more complete team atm. Gonna be fun Triv

Definitely will be a fun game to watch. My expectation is that this is an offensive blow out on both sides of the ball. I would be jumping on the OVER quickly if I were betting.

In fact, almost every line LTA posted has already moved 0.5-1.5 in his favour. Congratulations LTA!

Most of the Bills success has come with a late field goal at the end of the game to win, and to be honest, I expect the same in this game. I don't see either team being 3 touchdowns ahead of one another or anything like Bills vs. KC, or Bills vs. Washington. This will be tough for both teams. I think both defenses are weak, and it might just be the basics of no turnovers, time management, and other key basics that get the job done.

I don't hold a lot of credit to Sanchez for his past AFC title game appearances. I agree with LTA that the past is the past. It is the present situation that counts, and for that, I give credit to the players you mention for becoming much more familiar and getting better at their assigned positions. The Jets have talent.

I just don't see the wager, but obviously if you do, go with your gut (and hopefully not with your emotions). Your gut is usually right. I had no problem betting against the Bills several times this season (with the spread) when I saw the value. If the line was line +3 or +4, I would be having a different tune (and if I were betting, would be betting for the Jets), but at +1, I'm not seeing that value with a Bills team that is very offensively competent right now, but best of luck.

I do not have the Bills or Jets in my Season Wins, so I'm okay to say may the best team win. If the Bills win, I'll just send an electronic beer or something as a token of good sportsmanship. Not sure how to send a real beer, but I would find a way and do that as well.

Interesting. I agree on the defense, completely. I just don't see the Jets D, stopping the Bills O time and time again throughout the match.

Excluding the things we can't cap for (like punt returns for TD, pick 6's, and all that stuff that has plagued us the last few weeks, wanting to pull our hair out), I don't see the wager the way you guys do. But like I said, your gut is what counts, and I can be the better man at the end of the day and congratulate you if you win (and wish you success). I would even PM you from the game, if my Canadian cell phone company didn't charge me $3 a MB for data usage in the USA. LOL.

I just don't see it at +1, when 6 games this year involving either of these two teams was a field goal decision.

That Tennessee game is back and forth and all over the place, but most books are still hanging 3 points. Consequently, all in all, we're looking good so far on our picks and are beating the current number in 4 out of the 6 plays.

Just wanted to say that I am wagering this weekend on one of these wagers. I had 2 units in a sportsbook that I could not cash out (rollover bonus after joining recently).

So I took the OVER in the Bills/Jets game for just over 2 units since I loved the play, and will be at the game.
