Sunday NFL Hall of Fame game, August 8th CINCINNATI vs. DALLAS
Here we go, kicking off the 2010 season with 2 teams which should be factors in the playoffs. Man, it's great to have the football season back upon us. Any leans for this game? Bengals minus 3 and a total of 32.5 is widely available.

The worst part (glass half empty) is that as the season gets started, it's closer to the end.

I'm leaning Cincinnati and over. Dallas is 0-2 SU and ATS in its first preseason game the last two years. Both games went way over (31-10 at Oak in 2009, 31-17 at SD in 2008). Cincy is 1-1 SU and ATS in its first game, and the 'over' is 1-1 as well. I feel like the Bengals have more to prove in the game. A lot of people always bet the Cowboys, so I think they are a trap here getting points.

Almost time to kick off the season.

What a good feeling when football is back.

Enjoy the game. Even preseason is good football. We'll get to see several guys who are trying hard to get a job.

NFL Preseason Preview - Dallas (0-0) vs. Cincinnati (0-0)

                  By Tony Moss, Sports Network

                  The Sports Network

The NFL preseason will kick off in traditional fashion on Sunday night, when the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys do battle in the annual Hall of Fame Game from Canton, OH.

The pair of defending division winners will be taking their initial steps toward building on the success of the 2009 campaign.

The Bengals, who went 10-6 and took the AFC North crown before succumbing to the Jets in the postseason, made a series of offseason additions in the interests of making their first back-to-back playoff appearances since 1981-82.

The most notable was that of wideout Terrell Owens, who will be seeking to enhance a corps of pass-catchers that will also include first-round rookie tight end Jermaine Gresham (Oklahoma) and former Buccaneers No. 1 wideout Antonio Bryant. Owens - who was injured as a member of the Bills during last year's Hall of Fame Game - is expected to play as is Gresham, who missed all of the 2009 season at Oklahoma and would be seeing live action for the first time since suffering a knee injury last summer.

Bryant, who is recovering from offseason knee surgery, is unlikely to be in uniform. Former first-round tackle Andre Smith (foot) is among the other Bengals who will not play.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, will also be at something less than full strength as the defending NFC East champs begin trying to build on last year's 11-5 campaign.

Rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant (Oklahoma State), who is expected to be a key contributor for the Cowboys in 2010, suffered a high ankle sprain in practice last week and could miss at least a month. Safety Pat Watkins (knee) will also be out for Dallas.

In keeping with early preseason tradition, neither the Bengals' or Cowboys' first-teamers are expected to play more than a series or two.

The annual Hall of Fame game is played at Pro Football Hall of Fame Field at Fawcett Stadium, a Canton city high school facility which seats 22,375 and can accommodate up to 1,500 in standing room. It is located directly across the street from the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The first game of the series was played in 1962, a year before the Hall was opened. Except for 1966, there has been a Hall of Fame game in Canton every year since.

The Bengals are 1-1 in Hall of Fame Games, with a 17-9 loss to the Redskins in 1979 and a 14-7 win over the Rams in 1988. Cincinnati's most recent Super Bowl appearance also came in '88.

The Cowboys are 0-3 in Hall of Fame Games, dropping contests in Canton in 1968 (30-24 to the Bears), 1979 (20-13 to the Raiders), and 1999 (20-17 in overtime to the Browns). Dallas has made the playoffs in all three seasons during which it has participated in the Hall of Fame Game.

The Bengals and Cowboys will be meeting in a preseason game for the first time. Dallas leads the regular season series, 6-4, including a 31-22 home win when the clubs last met, in 2008.

Betting on preseason is such a crap shoot because you're betting on the bench dude who's trying to make the roster or practice squad

It appears to me that Cincy has the better QB corp for this game. I'd say that is the main reason for liking them here.

Can't believe anyone is on the under...

Did you guys see last year or the year before?

                                    2008 Redskins v Colts 30 - 16 = 48 points
                                    2009 Titans v Bills = 21 - 18 = 39 points

                                    More importantly...
Dallas likes to run up the score in any preseason game.
(people from texas like big things!)

In fact, Dallas beat the over 9 of the last 12 preseason games.

Couple that with the bangers wanting to throw TD's to T.O. who
                                    will play 3 quarters...

Gonna be a lot of frequent flyer miles given out in this game!

                                    The over is the play.
