i usually dont, but i am a big believer in backing well coached/good teams off a loss and off their bye week.

It was last Monday all over again...start slow finish fast. Maybe I should just start betting NFL games by the half rather than the game if this is how it's going to play out all the time. There were a number of games this weekend where a half bet would've net me a win but ended up losing the game, almost last minute.

This usually reverts to the mean after a while. But this weekend, I am going all dogs, I will tease 2.5 / 6.5 to 3 and 7 but that's the only maneuvering i am doing, for 1X.

Interesting theory. Not sure if this is effective or not.

There is a bye week theory, where the favorite out of their bye will cover their spread.

So for Week 6, the Steelers as fav could cover against the Browns.
But in Week 5, the Cowboys as fav out of their bye lost to the Titans.

The bye week theory isn't good either.

It also factors in well coached, well prepared teams so not sure if you want to put the Cowboys in that category.

exactly - notice how i am playing the pats and steelers this week. 2 very well coached teams (super bowl champ coaches) off their bye week. the steelers, actually coming off a loss. i would have gone heavier then 2x had the line been better then 14. thats a lot of points in the NFL but i had to lay the wood.

Ok, week 6- Over 64% / U 36% / Favs 57%. Value Line went 5-3-4 on sides and 7-4 on O/U.

O/U was mirror of week 5, but we had twice as many favorites covering.

Getting to work now on Week 7.

Dex, i am with you on everything except San Diego. What are you thinking here? I have not watched a lot of their games, but have caught NE. I still have NE winning by 6, but tend to roll with you on games.

I am also jumping on Atl / KC & Over / Car & U / Sea Over.

sd is night and day home/road....they need this game big time at 2-4 and the pats defense should get abused (giving up around 23ppg). cross country travel for the pats off a big OT win....i wouldnt call this a let down game for ne....but i just see the chargers wanting it a lot more.
