Thursday Night Football: Ravens vs Dolphins Picks & Betting Splits
Week 8 of Thursday Night Football features an AFC matchup between Baltimore and Miami. SBR's Gary Pearson breaks down the action in his Ravens vs Dolphins prediction:

Game prediction: Ravens -7.5 (-110 via BetMGM)

    Over/Under pick: Over 50.5 (-110 via FanDuel)

"The Ravens are almost completely healthy, which should come with a warning sign for their forthcoming opponents. Only offensive tackle Ronnie Staley remains a limited participant, with everyone else on the full-participation list, including two-time MVP Jackson.

The mood in the Ravens' locker room must be as good as the aforementioned injury report. It feels like a situation ripe for the visitors to go off, at least offensively.

Jackson will love the fact that he returns to action against the fourth-worst unit in terms of DVOA and EPA per play.

The Dolphins offense, meanwhile, won't fear a Ravens defense that has the 23rd-ranked defensive DVOA and third-worst EPA per play. The weather will be ideal, which should help two of the three most profitable teams to the Over. The Dolphins are 6-1-1 to the Over and Baltimore is 6-1.

Hard Rock Stadium has seen three Overs in as many games this season, with an average of 55 points. While I'm also partial to the Ravens covering, I'm slightly more confident in betting the Over."

Player prop bet: Mark Andrews Over 27.5 receiving yards (-114 via FanDuel)

"Jackson has a favorable matchup against a unit with the fourth-worst defensive pass DVOA. However, the Dolphins are surprisingly effective at limiting opposing wide receivers, allowing the fewest yards per game to that position (107.62).

That unit isn't so proficient at stopping opposing tight ends, who average 63.62 yards per game. Only six defenses allow more yards per game to tight ends, which should open the door for Andrews.

While he isn't having the season he would like, he accumulated 91 yards against the Detroit Lions, Jackson's last complete game.

Despite his overall inconsistency, Andrews hit the Over on this total in two of four games with Jackson under center."

SBR's Dustin Saracini has his best Ravens vs Dolphins TNF player prop bets ready to go:

Lamar Jackson Over 35.5 rushing yards (-110 via BetMGM)

"If Lamar Jackson says he's 100% healthy - I believe him. He shouldn't have any issue being the Lamar we all know and love, and 35.5 rushing yards is just too damn low. Prior to his injury, Jackson had gone Over this number in three of four starts. The one time he didn't was against the Cleveland Browns, and that's one of the best run-stopping units in the NFL. The Miami Dolphins? Well, not so much.

Miami comes into this game allowing 145 rushing yards per game on the ground, which is the fifth-worst mark in football. To make matters worse, the last time they faced a mobile quarterback, he ran all over them. In Week 4, Justin Fields took seven carries for 81 yards (11.6 yards per carry). Jackson should have no problem here."

De'Von Achane Over 56.5 rushing yards (-114 via FanDuel)

"Achane has gone Over this number in five of six weeks, and frankly, I'm appalled it's so low. Baltimore's run defense has been consistently gashed this season, giving up 128 yards per game on the ground. Miami's offensive line is coming off one of its best games of the season, and I expect the unit to keep the ball on the ground in order to find success on Thursday Night Football."

Derrick Henry Over 89.5 rushing yards (-113 via DraftKings)

"This play has bit me in the derriere multiple times this year, but I finally think King Henry gets the job done for us against a terrible run defense in Miami. With Lamar back in the fold, the quarterback option is now all the way back, which should have the front seven of the Fins on their heels all night long. Henry is just now starting to find his groove after a hot start, and Miami's defense won't put up much of a fight."

SBR's Esten McLaren shares his TNF anytime touchdown scorer predictions:

Zay Flowers, WR, Ravens (+120 via DraftKings)

"Zay Flowers, the Ravens' clear No. 1 receiver, hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 1. Without Jackson in the lineup, he was targeted eight or more times in three of the past four games, and caught all five of his targets for 72 yards in the one game he received fewer looks.

Amid QB struggles in Baltimore, Flowers has caught 42 of 55 targets for 486 yards through seven games. Jackson's return aligns with this Thursday Night Football clash with a Dolphins team that has allowed receivers to catch 66.4% of their targets and score seven touchdowns. And those numbers were improved with last week's rout of the Atlanta Falcons."

Jaylen Waddle, WR, Dolphins (+145 via FanDuel)

"While I very much think a rejuvenated Ravens team that's still the -130 betting favorite (DraftKings) to win the AFC North at 2-5 has a chance to pitch a shutout tonight in Jackson's return to the lineup, these odds for Jaylen Waddle are far too appealing to let slip by.

Waddle has been targeted at least five times in all but one game this season. He has caught 35 of 50 targets through eight games, and has scored four touchdowns. Only two teams have allowed more touchdowns to receivers this season than the Ravens' 10, so I'm locking in on Miami's No. 1 target, just as QB Tua Tagovailoa will do once again."

Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens (+155 via DraftKings)

"I promise, I didn't intend to bet on Jackson in his first game back since Week 4. He hasn't even scored a rushing touchdown since Week 1's 41-40 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

But the Dolphins and their miserable defense make this impossible to pass up.

Miami has allowed opposing QBs to score a league-high four rushing touchdowns on a modest 38 carries. And that, again, comes after a pseudo-bye week against the Kirk Cousins-led Falcons."
